RAIN MOVING IN FOR THURSDAY NIGHT... TEMPS WILL FALL SLOWLY LATE TONIGHT AND THROUGH FRIDAY...
Good afternoon fellow humans, we certainly busted a move on some warm 60s this afternoon – in late March it ain’t gonna last, so I guess we’ll take it while we can.
As this warm day wanes and clouds increase, we’ve got a pretty potent cold front with some weak low pressure out over the northern Ohio Valley that will swing east and through the region tonight, bringing rainfall with it.
Southern VT will see first showers by 5-6pm, and the rest of us in the greater WMass region should see showers move in between 6-9pm, with periods of rainfall overnight, some if it on the heavier side. We may even see a thunder rumble, or two.
Most of the rain should be done by dawn, but parts of northern CT may see some showers lingering into the early to mid morning period on Friday. Most of us will see a quarter to half inch of rainfall, but over half an inch to almost an inch is possible in the Berkshires, western hilltowns, and SVT especially.
Thereafter, temps will level off in the 30s for the high terrain and 40s for the valley, and then slowly drop in the afternoon with northwest winds gusting up to 30mph at times, followed by a very cold Friday night with lows in the upper teens to mid 20s.
There’s a very low chance for some snow showers to do the region very early Saturday morning, but I will update on the weekend during tomorrow morning’s report.
And hey, if you’re attending the Back Porch Festival in Northampton tomorrow evening, my band King Radio is playing at Lyman Hall at 6pm, hope to see you!
Have a great night!
