BREEZY WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS TONIGHT, THUNDER LIKELY STAY SOUTH… COOLER AND DRIER OVERNIGHT INTO THURSDAY…

Good afternoon folks, we’ve seen a few spot showers around this afternoon with highs mostly in the 80s with a few spots that have crested the 90º mark, such as Chicopee and East Longmeadow in Hampden County MA. Going forward, additional scattered showers will push through the region, but while I can’t rule out some thunder I believe it will be mostly experienced south of our region into southern CT and RI where Severe Thunderstorm Watches are up.

The best chance for any thunder will be somewhere in northern CT later this afternoon or into early evening. Otherwise, expect breezy conditions ahead of our incoming cold front which moves through this evening from north to south.

This will switch the wind direction around which will allow for MUCH drier air to whoosh through the region, crashing dewpoint temps from the 60s into the 30s and 40s, and with air-temp lows dropping down into the mid 40s to low 50s.

Scattered light showers will continue to be possible into the early morning, but we’ll be drying with time, and during the day on Thursday we should see partly sunny skies develop with highs reaching the mid to upper 60s.

Thursday night will be chilly with lows crashing into the mid 30s to low 40s, so again, Friday morning will feature a chilly start to end the week!

Have a great night!
