COLD FRONT PUSHING EAST INTO THE PIONEER VALLEY AT EARLY AFTERNOON... RAIN MIXING WITH OR CHANGING TO SNOW/SLEET IN THE BERKSHIRES, SVT, FAR WESTERN HILLTOWNS... SOME VALLEY MIX...
Good afternoon folks, for the rest of the afternoon, our final slug of precipitation from the passing cold front will track southwest to northeast as the whole line pulls east with a storm developing along the front as colder air works into the region at all levels.
A mix of rain, sleet and/or snow will fall across the greater WMass region with some valley locations are seeing sleet mix with rain. Intensity will be mostly light to moderate, no thunder expected, nor any downpours as colder air stabilizes things.
Again, some fresh coatings up to an inch or so is possible by dinner time in the western high terrain.
This activity will wind down between 5-8pm, with cold lows in the mid 20s to low 30s overnight.
Tomorrow continues to look interesting with another low poressure system developing along the base of the upper trough which will swing through southern New England tomorrow around mid day into the afternoon.
More mixed showers are expected, including snow, sleet, graupel and rain, fun for the whole family!!!!
Stay warm, I’m off to bake tons of acorns squash, sweet potatoes, and other foods for the week ahead.
Have a restful afternoon if you can, and stay warm, Dave.
