Weather Nut Update

MILDER TEMPS MAY TURN TODAY'S MINOR WINTER EVENT INTO AN ELEVATION-DEPENDENT WET SNOWFALL, ESPECIALLY FOR AREAS IN WMASS AND FAR NORTHWEST CT AND FAR SOUTHWEST VT, WEST OF I-91
Good late-morning folks, just a quick mid-day update to say that while we have precipitation developing to our west, many surface temps are well into the 30s and still rising a bit.
Given that cold sub-freezing air in the mid-levels aloft is located up near the Rt. 2 corridor on northward, I’m starting to feel that the fairly widespread coating to 3″ of snow I lowered to earlier this morning may end up being relegated to the Berkshires, Taconics, far southern VT mountains, the western hilltowns, and far northern Litchfield Hills in northwest CT,
I’m still leaving it at a coating to 3″ in WMass, CMass, far southern VT, and far northern CT, but given that colder air is more likely to move in after much of the precip is over this evening, many areas east of those high terrain areas I mentioned above could pretty easily end up with slushy coatings to maybe an inch in some higher-terrain areas, and that’s about it, with some seeing little to none.
I will update again late this afternoon, thanks, Dave.
