SUNDAY MORNING RAIN / FLOOD UPDATE...
Good morning folks, at 10:30am, along the Hartford to Springfield to Worcester line along south / southeast of there into southeast parts of WMass and southern parts of central MA down into north-central and especially northeast CT is where the heaviest rain will reside into early afternoon as the whole system is pushed east by our incoming cold front over the Great Lakes.
These are the areas most likely to produce local flash flooding, and street flooding is already underway in spots this morning.
In particular in terms of flash flooding, southern Tolland and Windham Counties in northeast CT are more likely than not to see Flash Flood Warnings hoisted before noon assuming that the boundary that’s been focusing intense heavy rain in southeast CT continues to lift slowly NNE as it has over the past hour or so.
Southern CT is not a place to be driving this morning, as there is considerable flash flooding underway, and if I would stay off of I-95 for sure.
I will keep an eye on things and update again as warranted, thanks for reading, Dave.
