HEAVY RAIN AT TIMES MOVING IN FOR THE EVENING... STRONGER WIND GUSTS EXPECTED, ESPECIALLY AT ELEVATION... WIND ADVISORIES AND FLOOD WATCHES CONTINUE...
Good evening everybody, the cooler air hung on for longer in Hampshire, Franklin Counties of WMass as well as Windham County of VT, with most other areas in the greater WMass region pushing well into the 50s and low 60s.
Where temps hang in the 40s to mid 50s in southeast VT and Franklin County tonight wind may be less, but these milder temps should help southerly wind gusts of 35-55mph mix down to the surface overnight until the cold front swings through.
There is still plenty of snowpack in some high terrain areas like western Franklin County and northeast Berkshire County, so patchy fog may continue to be an issue as it was earlier for such areas.
Embedded thunder is possible, and some isolated outages are also possible in the stronger wind gusts.
Lastly, minor street or stream flooding is possible, as we’ll see some heavier convective rain cells streaming NNE through the region through about 2-4am when the cold front will sweep everything east and out of our area.
Westerly gusts will pick up behind the cold front as Tuesday wears on, with gusts 25-45mph at times. Have a great night!
