Good afternoon folks, the strongest weather is going to pass well south of us into the Tri-State region including southern CT, but there is a cluster of strong thunderstorms that have formed in the Catskill Mountains in western Ulster and southern Greene Counties NY and are heading east towards the southern Berkshires and far northwest CT.

These will likely arrive before or around 6pm, so keep an eye/ear west if you are out that way this later afternoon.

There is some activity further west along the PA/NY border that may bloom into another roudn of showers and thunderstorms that moves through 7-11pm, but as of now, the heaviest activity with a wide-spread history of wind damage is likely to pass south of our region, into southeast PA, northern NJ and southern CT where additional Severe Thunderstorm Watches are likely to be hoisted soon.

I will keep an eye on things, but for now it’s southwest MA into northwest CT that is line for potential strong gusty winds and hail. Areas east of there like Hartford County and Hampden County MA into some far southern Hampshire County towns may get wet as well.
