This severe-warned cluster is growing and tracking east toward WMass.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH HAS BEEN HOISTED FOR ALL OF WESTERN MASS AND MOST OF NORTHERN CT... TIMEFRAME FOR IMPACT IS MAINLY 4-8PM
Good afternoon folks, we’re already seeing a downpour transforming into a thunderstorm in northwest Worcester County near Phillipston heading east towards southern Templeton, but a larger severe-warned thunderstorm cluster to our west out near is approachin the western and northern Catskills of NY with other showers blooming to east of it over the Hudson River Valley.
This area of disturbed weather is tracking east towards the NY/MA line at the latitude of the Berkshires and points south, and so Severe Thunderstorm Watches have been posted by the Storm Prediction Center through 8pm for much of our region.
Any thunderstorms could produce torrential rainfall and strong gusty winds, with potential for localized wind damage. Small hail is also possible with these cells.
I will keep an eye on things and post later today if warranted, keep an eye/ear to the west this afternoon and early evening… thank you, Dave.
