A FINAL HOT DAY FOLLOWED BY SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LATE THIS EVENING, SOME STRONG CELLS POSSIBLE WITH GUSTY WINDS… A COOLER, AND DRIER AIR MASS ARRIVES MONDAY INTO WED

Good morning folks, sorry for the delay this morning, I threw my low back out and am moving very slowly right now, so if anybody out there has recommendations or suggestions that worked for them or their person, I am all ears as to how to recover from this setback. NO FUN. As for our weather, we’ve got a low-level hot and summery Sunday to enjoy that will be mostly dry until about 8pm when some isolated showers or a t-storm may arrive prior clusters and periods of showers, downpours and thunderstorms moving through the greater WMass region toward midnight and overnight.

Highs today will reach the mid 80s to low 90s under mostly sunny skies yet dewpoints will hang in the 50s for much of the day, so we’ll get a drier heat before humidity increases this evening ahead of our incoming cold front.

As the front approaches, we should see some isolated showers move in around sunset or just after, followed by the heavier batch of showers, downpours and thunderstorms which will push in around midnight in clusters, and some storms could become strong to marginally severe with strong wind gusts in the 40-60mph range in a cell or two.

This activity should push through and be out of here by dawn tomorrow morning with lows in the mid to upper 50s with patchy fog possible.

As our Monday wears on, a fresher air mass will be sweeping and seeping into the region with sunshine, dry air, and highs only reaching the upper 60s to mid 70s which below seasonable as we head for the Solstice. Lows will dip into the mid 40s to low 50s, so a Tuesday morning dog walk will be chilly!

Tuesday looks lovely as well, a bit milder, with highs in the 75-80º range under mostly sunny skies, followed by lows in the low to mid 50s under partly cloudy skies.

Wednesday and Thursday represent transition days between our early week pattern and the following weekend which looks to feature fair and seasonably warm weather.

While some showers are possible by Wednesday afternoon with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s, we’ll have a much better chance of rainfall Wednesday through Thursday, along with strong southerly gusts before the front pushes past our region from west to east.

I hope you have a great day!
