SUNNY BREAKS AND SCATTERED SHOWERS SATURDAY, SOME STAY DRY… MILDER SUNDAY WITH A FEW POP UP SHOWERS… WARMER AND WINDIER MONDAY AND TUESDAY… SHOWERS WEDNESDAY, RAINY THURSDAY

Good morning folks, remember you can always skip to the Nutshell and Celestials below. For those who like fair weather, our coastal storm has been trending back a bit more out to sea, so this bodes well for Sunday becoming our weekend pick after a weak shortwave pushes through the region today with a few more additional isolated to scattered showers.

It does not look like washout by any means, but I can’t rule out a few showers in the afternoon as highs rise into the 50s under mostly cloudy skies with a few sunny breaks or periods. Lows drop into the 30s tonight.

Assuming our storm continues to track mostly away and out to sea, while a few light showers in far northeast CT and southeast CMass are possible, I expect a mostly sunny day to develop along and west of the I-91 corridor with partly sunny skies east of there. Highs again will rise into the 50s with lows in the mid to upper 30s and some southwest breezes developing.

By Monday and Tuesday, we’re soaring into southwesterly flow which means warmer temps with high rising well into the 60s on Monday and well into the 70s by Tuesday.

Southerly to southwesterly wind gusts will pick up and gust 20-35mph at times with lower pressures way north of us and our high to the south. With dry ground fuels, this likely increases risk for ground fire spread to mind your butts’n’burns!

It will be mostly sunny during this period, and lows each night will be in the 40s Monday night and 50s Tuesday night!

By Wednesday we’re going to see clouds increasing as a pre-frontal zone of showers pushes east into the region, especially in the afternoon and evening with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s, and lows either side of 50º. Expect periods of showers Wednesday afternoon and night.

After a brief lull in the action sometime Thursday morning, a potent-looking area of low pressure looks to crank up into the eastern Great Lakes and track northeast through northern New England during the day along a cold front.

This will likely push substantial amounts of rainfall into the greater WMass region Thursday into Thursday evening with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

Rain will quit at night, but behind that system, the pressure gradient will be tight and therefore we could see west to northwest winds gust 30-45mph at times overnight into Friday with highs either side of 60º under party sunny skies.

Have a great day!
