A SPOT SHOWER, T-STORM, OR DRIZZLE PATCH TODAY FOLLOWED BY A NICER WEEKEND… SATURDAY’S THE WEEKEND PICK… MOSTLY NICE SUNDAY, A FEW SUNDAY EVE SHOWERS POSSIBLE… UNSETTLED TUE-THURS.
Good morning folks, I hope things go well for you today and that you have at least one memorable moment that feels good to think about by the end of the day. We’ve got incoming surface high pressure and an upper level trough that is lifting northeast and away from our region today, so things are drying out for much of the weekend, which is good timing!
For today, we still have some lingering effects of the trough, with some misty areas or light showers in the Berkshires this morning, patchy fog, and low clouds. All of this low-level moisture should slowly break up with time, and while we are socked in the clouds for a good part of the day, some partly sunny breaks should develop by later in the afternoon. A few spot showers or a garden variety thunderstorm may form, but most of us should remain dry.
Highs will peak in the low 70s to low 80s, and for tonight, we’ll dry out with northerly flow developing which will cause lows to plummet into the upper 40s to mid 50s – a super fresh Saturday morning awaits!
Saturday is gorgeous, highs in the 70s with some upper 60s in the western high terrain under mostly sunny skies and light northerly wind. Lows dip into the low to mid 50s.
Sunday looks lovely too, especially early, with slightly warmer highs in the low 70s to low 80s from high terrain to the valley floor.
There’s a low chance of a few showers late in the day, and lows should settle out into the upper 50s to low 60s.
Monday is our transition day as a frontal boundary is pushed southwest from northern New England into southern New England by a system well north of us.
High temps will be similar to Sunday, but it should be cloudier overall, especially in the afternoon, and some showers will be possible by Monday night.
The Tuesday to Thursday timeframe appears to focus areas of showers setting up somewhere in the greater WMass regional vicinity as a couple of disturbance track west to east along the stalling front near our region.
I will clarify details as we get closer, but those three days at the moment should feature mostly cloudy skies and periods of rainfall with dry periods as well, and highs in the 70s.
Have a great day!
