FAIR WEATHER INTO WEDNESDAY, THEN SOUTHWEST BREEZES LEAD TO NIGHTTIME SHOWERS INTO THURSDAY, WITH NORTHWEST WIND GUSTS UP TO 30MPH OR SO DURING THE AFTERNOON…COOLER, FAIR LATE WEEK
Good morning everybody, we certainly have started off chilly with low temps in the 40s to low 50s, with 41º noted at North Adams MA and Bennington VT airports! High pressure spilling southeast out of the Great Lakes region and into New England and New York this morning will help produce full sunshine today and Tuesday, with partial sunshine for Wednesday before a cold front brings periods of showers into our neck of the woods Wednesday night into Thursday.
For today, highs will reach the upper 60s to upper 70s with a light northwest wind leading to mostly clear skies tonight and lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s.
For Tuesday, we’ll toast it up a touch with highs in the low 70s to low 80s under sunny skies, followed by lows in the 50s under partly cloudy skies.
By Wednesday, moisture will be tracking in from the west so skies will turn partly sunny to eventually mostly cloudy before a frontal boundary swings through, draped off a strengthening low-pressure system that will pass well north of us into Thursday.
Highs Wednesday will reach the 70s to low 80s, southwest breezes will pick up late in the day, and clouds will thicken as we head into sunset.
Periods of showers continue to look likely Wednesday night late into Thursday as a cold front swings through the region, and while some heavier showers are possible, it doesn’t look like washout at the moment. Wednesday night lows bottom out into the low to mid 60s.
Behind the front on Thursday, high pressure will start to build in quickly behind it so the pressure gradient should tighten and northwest gusts should blow 20-35mph at times, the way it looks now. Highs will top out in the low 70s to low 80s with lows in the 50s.
Behind that front on Friday, we should clear out into more high pressure with highs in the mid 60s to mid 70s on Friday, and then well into the 70s over the weekend with plenty of sunshine forecast for now.
Have a great day!
