[8:35AM, SAT. 2/14/26] A FEW FLURRIES TODAY FOLLOWED BY PARTIAL SUNSHINE AND MILDER TEMPS THIS WEEKEND… SOME SNOW SHOWERS POSSIBLE LATE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY...

Good morning folks, we’re kicking off our weekend with mostly cloudy skies and a few flurries as a weak wave moves through. However, drying is moving behind this system into the western Great Lakes, so we should see at least some partial sunshine develop later today with highs in the 30s and westerly gusts up to 20mph behind this system.

For tonight, lows will drop into the teens under partly cloudy skies, and by Sunday, we’ll be a little bit cool with highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s with early sunshine followed by clouds building in from the south and southwest later in the day and in the evening.

A potent storm will be developing to our south, likely somewhere between the DelMarVa Peninsula and the North Carolina coastline, while a northern piece of energy likely fails to phase with it, resulting in two systems mostly not joining forces to produce a storm in our region.

However, there could be a modicum of interaction, along with the passage of the northern stream piece through our region to produce some snow showers early Monday morning. There’s a low chance for coatings of new snow in northern CT, but I will update you on that tomorrow.

After any snow showers Monday morning, milder temps will be on the way with highs in the 35-40º range Monday, and then into the upper 30s to mid 40s on Tuesday and Wednesday with partly sunny skies expected (especially Tuesday), along with lows in the 20s.

Again, the thaw/refreeze cycle continues, which means areas of black ice are possible during ANY early morning period in the near future.

Once we reach Wednesday afternoon or evening, it’s beginning to look like we’ll heading into an unsettled period with a boundary of colder temps north and milder temps south settling near or waving around the greater WMass region which means that several impulses (one of which might develop into a stronger storm by Sunday) will bring periods of rain and/or snow depending on latitude, elevation, and other factors.

Temps look to be bit colder during this period as well, but I will need more time to parse things out and update you with details as we get closer to that Wednesday afternoon to Sunday night timeframe.

I hope you have a great day!
