BREEZY, COLD AND DRY TO START FEBRUARY WITH FULL SNOW MOON TONIGHT… FAIR-WEATHER WORK WEEK AHEAD WITH MORE TOLERABLE TEMPS… LIGHT SNOW STILL POSSIBLE FOR FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY

Good morning folks, our Cold Weather Advisories will expire at 10am this morning, and I doubt we’ll see another set of alerts tonight given that temps won’t be as cold as they were this morning, which produced wind chills down to -28º in the northern Berkshires up into Bennington, VT!

Temps will rise a bit more today, topping out in the mid teens to mid 20s as our deep snow pack has just been sitting in place for a week.

We’ll see more clouds to the east of I-91 and south of Rt. 2, and more sun to the west in WMass, northwest CT and SVT/SWNH while far southeast New England gets grazed by the blizzard that pasted the Carolinas yesterday and overnight.

Northern Florida even saw snow showers this morning!

For us, we’ll see some northerly breezes as the storm tracks northeast and out to sea, but gusts shouldn’t get much higher than 30mph, which could knock wind chills down into the single digits to low teens today, so bundle up once again. Lows will dip into the single digits with breezy conditions and wind chills as low as -10º by tomorrow morning.

Once start the new work week, we’re gonna land in a flow direction that has some southerly component to it, which means highs should mostly be well into the 20s with a few spots hitting the low 30s here and there, with lows in the single digits.

Fair weather looks to rule our roost, so we’ll see plenty of sunshine with tolerable winter temperatures!

By Friday, any early sunshine with give way to increasing clouds, as I continue to see an Alberta Clipper system signalled to dive southeast out of Ontario, Canada and right through New England.

We’ll have plenty of cold air in place so that it would be a snow event, and it could produce some light accumulation Friday night into Saturday, so I will keep you updated on that system.

Lastly, behind our Clipper system, strong northwest winds may develop as the Clipper hits the western Atlantic and really deepens, pulling air towards its center. In fact, gusts may be as high as 30-50mph next Sunday and with highs only in the teens, we could be heading right back into the deep freeze as we crest into the 2nd week of February.

I hope you have a great day, and if you value my work and want to support it through 2026, you can contribute below (my free iPhone app is available for download as well).

Thank you so much, Dave.
