VERY WARM AND HUMID THRU MID-WEEK… A PAIR OF COLD FRONTS KNOCK THE HUMIDITY DOWN BY LATE WEEK… SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LATER TODAY FOR SOME… SUNDAY IS DRIER…
Good morning folks, we’ve got a mostly nice weekend ahead, although there is the expectation that some of us will see scattered showers, downpours and thunderstorms later this afternoon into the evening early evening, generally moving through in the 4-8pm timeframe.
It will still be humid today with dewpoints in the mid 60s to low 70s, and while there may be slight fluctuations, humidity is here to stay until at least mid-week when a pair of cold frontal passages are slated to knock down this humid air mass by late week into the following weekend.
But, if you’re a summah lovah, this weather is for you, my friends!
Highs today reach the upper 70s to upper 80s under mostly sunny skies. The surface heating of the day will interact with an incoming disturbance that should help bubble up some scattered clusters of showers, downpours and/or thunderstorms later this afternoon, with the most likely impact time of 4-8pm or so moving west to east.
Torrential rain and strong gusty winds are possible, and this activity should then die down before midnight, as the steering flow will keep it moving vs. rain that lingered last night east of the I-91 corridor in CT and MA.
Lows tonight will drop into the 60s.
Sunday and Monday looks quite nice, to be honest, and while an afternoon shower can’t be ruled out, I think we’ll be mostly dry and sunny with highs in the upper 70s to upper 80s Sunday, and then mid 70s to mid 80s on Monday with lows generally in the upper 50s to mid 60s with continued humidity.
By Tuesday into Wednesday the first of two cold fronts should be approaching the region with more shower activity with seasonable highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s. The timing of the front is uncertain right now, but it should be the “set” for late-week cold front’s spike to knock down this humid pattern by Friday into the following weekend.
So, Tuesday looks like some showers, with a break for Wednesday, followed by more showers by Thursday into Friday with temps and humidity coming down by Friday with highs in the 70s by late next week, and dewpoints in the 50s, which will be quite lovely indeed.
Have a great day!
