A LOVELY SUNNY WEEKEND ARRIVES… A FEW SHOWERS BY MONDAY NIGHT… SCATTERED SHOWERS, DOWNPOURS OR THUNDERSTORMS WITH A HUMIDITY INCREASE BY TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY...
Good morning folks, well look at us, entering possibly the nicest summer weekend for 2026! Good job, weather! Seriously, I know how hard everybody works and for folks who are on the M-F 9-5 grind, this weekend will be so welcome for you, and for all of us really, so let’s jump into it.
We’ll enjoy the continuance of a “persistence pattern” today, tomorrow and Monday with high pressure slowly drifting east through and away from New England into early to the middle of next week.
This will push highs into the upper 70s to mid 80s with lighter winds, low humidity, plenty of sunshine, and lows in the 50s – this writer’s idea of summah perfection!
By Monday night, an upper trough (i.e. area of lower than average pressures high in the sky) will push east out of the Great Lakes towards northern New England.
This will induce a surface low to form somewhere in the northeast U.S., but details are uncertain right now.
Regardless, this pattern supports the development of some scattered showers by Monday night, and certainly during Tuesday into Wednesday when some downpours will be possible along with some thunderstorms scattered about.
If this comes together, some localized flash flooding or street flooding would be possible, so it’s something to watch, and I will keep you updated best I can.
Highs with more clouds around will hang in the 70s Tuesday and Wednesday with lows near 60º.
By Thursday into Friday, we should be drying out with a few afternoon instability showers possible and highs reaching the low 70s to low 80s.
All in all, it’s a fairly unremarkable weather pattern in terms of dynamic activity, while being simultaneously quite remarkable for how gorgeous it will be this weekend.
Life’s like that – paradoxical on multiple levels at the same time.
Have a great day!
