A LOVELY SEASONABLE SUNDAY FOLLOWED BY A FEW SHOWERS MAINLY NORTH OF RT. 2 TONIGHT… BREEZY MONDAY AND WARMER WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS FOR MONDAY AFTERNOON, THEN MUCH WARMER INTO WED.

Good morning everybody, we’ve got a lovely end to our weekend to enjoy today with fairly seasonable highs in the 50s to 60º under mostly sunny skies, with a few showers moving in tonight ahead of an incoming warm front.

Much of the energy for this front will be to our north in central and northern New England, but areas well north of the Pike, and mostly north of Rt. 2 should see some scattered showers overnight with lows in the upper 30s to mid 40s.

By Monday morning, southerly gusts will pick up as warmer air works into the region, thanks also in part to high pressure to our southeast driving southerly flow into New England.

Highs will push well into the 60s to low 70s under mostly cloudy skies, with more showers Monday afternoon and night as another shortwave passes to our north along the temperature boundary with colder air in northern New England and southernmost Canada. Lows Monday night will hang in the low to mid 50s.

By Tuesday, much more pronounced warmth will overspread our region with highs well into the 70s to possibly low 80s under partly sunny skies. A few more showers are possible Tuesday night with another weak wave passing to our north. Lows will be well into the 50s.

Wednesday, at the moment, holds the best potential for peak heat this coming week with highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s under partly to mostly sunny skies, again with a few showers possible at night and lows either side of 60º.

The late week period is more uncertain, though it’s more likely than not that unseasonably warm temps will continue Thursday through Saturday with highs at least in the 70s if not cresting 80º at times during this period.

It does look drier once we get to Friday and Saturday, but a strong-looking cold front with big Canadian high pressure behind it looks set to push rainfall in here on Sunday and bring much cooler temps in here by the following Monday and Tuesday. I will stay on top of the changes and convey them to you as each day comes and goes.

Have a great day!
