SUNNY AND MILDER SUNDAY START, FOLLOWED BY SCATTERED SHOWERS, DOWNPOURS AND A COJUPLE OF THUNDERSTORM ARRIVING BY MID/LATE AFTERNOON… HIT OR MISS SHOWERS MONDAY & TUESDAY AFTERNOON

Good morning folks, we’ve got a lovely yet chilly start to our Sunday with temps bottoming out in the 30s and 40s. Any early morning fog or frost patches dissipate, and will lead to a partly to mostly sunny Sunday morning as high clouds move in from the north, signaling some incoming afternoon weather.

After a pleasant morning, highs will reach the mid 60s to low 70s but clouds will be bubbling up to our north as another wave drops south around the back side of our upper trough that brought our wind, snow, rain and cool temps yesterday.

This will produce a round of scattered showers, downpours and thunderstorms by mid to late afternoon today, lasting into the evening so be mindful of the northern and northwestern sky if you’re cooking out or have other outdoor activities later this afternoon and evening.

Any shower activity winds down either side of midnight with lows dropping into the 40s.

For Monday and Tuesday, will be dealing with the slowly-waning influences of our upper trough in the northeast U.S. which means that scattered instability showers are possible each afternoon, but with less geographic coverage and volume compared to this afternoon’s activity.

Highs Monday reach the 60s under partly sunny skies, with lows in the mid to upper 40s, while Tuesday’s highs climb to either side of 70º with lows near 50º.

On Wednesday, there is a very low chance that a coastal storm could have some impacts to areas east of the I-91 corridor, but it likely stays out to sea, which would mean an upper ridge will start to build northward along the eastern seaboard.

Should this occur, highs will reach well into the 70s on Wednesday under mostly sunny skies, and then the upper 70s to mid 80s by Thursday, followed by temps well into the 80s to possibly 90º by Friday and Saturday with fair weather throughout.

By Saturday afternoon, a cold front may bring some showers back to our region and cool us down for next Sunday, but I will keep you updated the whole way.

Have a great day!
