INCREASING SUNSHINE TODAY WITH FAIR AND WARMING WEATHER THROUGH TUESDAY… WEDNESDAY TRANSITIONS INTO A RAINY PERIOD FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY AS A FRONT AND STORM ARRIVES
Good morning folks, I hope that our improving weather conditions today will similarly summon and portend a very nice and potentially increasingly more enjoyable end to your weekend. For certain, the 3-day forecast is sure to offer hope for those seeking some warmer temps as we head into May, and through Tuesday, our atmosphere should deliver (especially in the Pioneer Valley).
For today, we have a few leftover showers from our mostly southwestwardly-suppressed storm (wow, that’s a biiiiig hyphenated contraption, Hayes), but those are relegated to northern CT and should taper off well before noon.
Light rain showers made it northeast into Hampshire County last night, but the steadier stuff stayed in the central/southern Berkshires, western/central Hampden County and northern CT as expected.
Moving forward, sunshine will continue to increase from west to east today with highs climbing into the upper 50s to low 60s for a nice end to our weekend, followed by lows in the mid 30s to low 40s.
The start of the upcoming work week will feature a pair of beautifully sunny and warmer days with highs climbing well into the 60s for most of us (though probably either side of 60º in far northwest MA up into SVT). Lows will drop to either side of 40º, and there shall be peace in the valley with a sweet Spring feel.
By Wednesday, we’ll be transitioning into a more unsettled pattern with some onshore flow developing, so a few showers will be possible, especially east of the I-91 corridor.
Clouds will be increasing, and by nighttime a cold front will be swinging east into New England and pushing rainfall across the region with lows in the low to mid 40s.
Thursday looks quite rainy at the moment, with showers potentially falling through the afternoon with highs in the low to mid 50s, but I’ll dial that in as we get closer.
By Friday into the following weekend, temps are going to be cooler as an upper trough swings overhead and causes a moderately destabilized setup that should contribute to scattered showers at times with highs only reaching the mid 40s to mid 50s as we being the merry (and chilly?) month of May.
Hang in there, before you’ll know The Roast will be on and I will be sure to livestream my sobbing in my basement as summah lovahs rejoice and dance out in the heat and humidity
Have a great day and check out the Nutshell and Celestials below!
