HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMAH! NICE WEEKEND END FOLLOWED BY A SOAKING RAINFALL MONDAY AFTERNOON, MONDAY NIGHT, AND ENDING ON TUESDAY MORNING… FAIR AND WARMER WEATHER ARRIVES MID-WEEK
Good morning folks, we’ve got another gorgeous weekend day to enjoy for our Sunday as most of us dodge the isolated hydrometeor clusters (i.e. showers) that may form in a northwest flow pattern around our old distant upper low positioned over Atlantic Canada. Are we gonna dodge the rain tomorrow? NAY, I SAY.
As we end our weekend, we’ll enjoy plenty of sunshine especially the first half of the day before any clouds bubble up, with some producing a shower or a thunderstorm, again mostly likely SVT, SWNH or northern MA from about Greenfield to Fitchburg.
Highs will reach the mid 70s to low 80s and lows will dip into the mid to upper 50s as clouds develop later tonight in response to our storm system tracking east out of the Ohio Valley and right into southern New England for Monday afternoon and night.
Temps on Monday will be cooler as skies become overcast with highs only reaching the mid 60s to mid 70s as rain arrives in the Berkshires, far southwest VT and far northwest CT by late morning to mid-day, and then spreads east through the early to mid-afternoon through the greater WMass region.
Rain will fall heavily at times into Monday night as needed wet weather overspreads the region. In fact, if some of the heavier showers develop in this storm system as is being signaled, some ponding on roadways is possible, so be mindful of that if you are out and about, especially Monday night into early Tuesday morning.
Lows for our wet Monday night will dip into the 50s, and highs on Tuesday after morning showers deliver us into a partly sunny afternoon will reach the 75-80º range, followed by lows in the mid to upper 50s.
A solid 1-2” of rainfall is expected at the moment, and this is truly most welcome as many of us are in varying levels of drought across the region. These amounts should be well handled by our tributaries with no concern for flash flooding potential.
Wednesday and Thursday will feature high pressure pushing east and into our region with its core tracking south of us, putting us into a warming southerly flow.
This should translate into partly to mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s, and lows in the 55-60º range before we reach the week’s end when our next frontal boundary may bring some scattered showers and/or thunderstorms by Friday into Saturday with similarly warm high temps.
I hope you have a great day!
