YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION:
Good morning folks, it certainly is a pretty morning for most of us out there, please let me know how much snow you received even if just a dusting (and let me know if you just saw air flakes with no accumulation).
Going forward, our storm is pulling east and away and so snow will be winding down from west to east through the morning, with some lingering snow possible in far northeast CT and far southeast CMass this afternoon.
Otherwise, snow will stop and we’ll feel a cold front moving through the region this afternoon, behind which northwest winds will pick up and gust 25-40mph into tonight and Monday morning.
Highs will reach the 20s today, but then drop at night, plummeting into the single digits. With those kinds of wind gusts, wind chill readings will drop below zero (roughly a -10º to 5º range) by early Monday morning so bundle up, peeps.
Next week through Thursday features four days of fair weather conditions except for a few snow showers possible Monday night ahead of a wind shift out of the south.
Monday will see highs only reach the upper teens to mid 20s under partly sunny skies with increasing clouds late in the day. Lows Monday night will be in the teens as a few snow showers move through the region.
Tuesday should clear out with mostly sunny skies developing along with highs in the mid 20s to low 30s as southerly flow begins to trickle into our region. Lows will drop into the mid to upper teens.
By Wednesday, light southerly flow brings high temps up into the mid 30s to low 40s which will start some of this early-season snowmelt. Lows will dip into the 20s.
By Thursday, we start off partly sunny and highs will climb well into the 40s as southerly breezes start gusting over 20mph ahead of Friday’s potent cold front.
The potential is there for temps to keep rising at night and crest 50º, which could help spike wind gusts into the 30-50mph range as heavy rain moves in for Friday night with the cold front. There’s plenty of uncertainty, so I will update you on this late week stormy period as we get closer.
Any Friday rain may end as snow in the high terrain as a sharp cold front swings east through the region, which will likely drop our temps back into the teens by Friday night with a cold and blustery weekend to follow.
Have a great day!
