FINAL HEAVIER RAIN ROUND THIS MORNING WITH ROAD WAY PONDING POSSIBLE, THEN WARMING, BRIGHTENING, MORE HUMID, BUT A NICER END TO A DREARY LONG WEEKEND… WARMER AND SUNNIER TUES./WED.

Good morning everybody, more rain is on the way early this morning and already into the Berkshires and western hilltowns and heading through the valley and points east from there as I type this early morning.

This activity will last into mid to late morning, and then aside from a few more scattered showers towards late morning, we’re going to be brightening up, clearing some clouds, and making way for a warmer, and (for some) a partly sunny finish to the Memorial Day Weekend.

Highs should rise into the upper 60s to mid 70s, and it will be humid later with dewpoints cresting into the low to mid 60s by mid to late afternoon.

Lows will drop into the mid to upper 50s overnight with patchy fog expected, which will precede a two-day warming period with sunnier skies and highs in the 80s for the most part (though some mid to upper 70s are expected for Tuesday in northwest MA up into SVT/SWNH. Lows each day will be about 55-60º.

By Thursday into the weekend, confidence breaks down considerably as we know we’ll enter into a cooler air flow with highs in the 60s and 70s, but the timing of individual waves generating and diving southeast along the eastern side of a stronger upper level ridge near the Great Lakes is, to use a pun, up in the air for now.

I will update as we get closer, but for now, let’s get through this morning rainfall and hopefully salvage some nicer outdoor time later this afternoon, and to also be able to remember the folks who sacrificed their lives with their service and the intent to protect this country so folks like me can make soups on a rainy Sunday.

Sun and warmth is coming, folks, so hang in there!

Thanks for reading, Dave.
