MOSTLY FAIR WEATHER PERSISTS THROUGH TUESDAY WITH LIGHT NORTHERLY BREEZES… NEXT WEDNESDAY THRU FRIDAY REPRESENTS A STORMIER LOOK WITH RAIN LIKELY...
Good morning folks, we’ve got a gorgeous Autumn weekend ahead with partly to mostly sunny skies expected along with light northerly flow as giant high pressure envelops the entire east coast and produces “peace in the valley” weather conditions, so be sure to get outside and do your Fall thangs.
I expect some more cloud production over western high terrain west of I-91 in VT, MA and CT, but we should see some sunny breaks there as well as more sunshine in the valley and points east. Still, some fair weather cloudiness will bubble up at times with highs in the mid 40s to mid 50s from high terrain to valley. Lows will dip into the upper 20s to mid 30s. A spot shower is possible, but likely most stay dry.
For Sunday, we could see a few showers, again mostly relegated to the high terrain, and I can’t rule out a few snowflakes mixing in over the Berkshires and SVT. Highs again will rise into the mid 40s to mid 50s under mostly sunny skies with lows either side of 30º.
Similar weather conditions are expected for early next week (Monday and Tuesday), though a few more clouds are possible east of I-91 as onshore flow develops with high pressure tracking east of us, while a piece of an Atlantic Canadian upper low looks to simultaneously retrograde west towards northern NY.
The high keeps one storm shunted to our south, but then gets out of the way as the retrograding upper low (in some fashion) interacts with another piece of energy diving southeast towards the Carolinas by mid-week.
These two features should deepen an upper trough near the Virginias and help spawn and guide a second coastal low northward towards New England. Whether it tracks over us, west of us or east of us, I do not know, but some wet weather is expected by Wednesday night into the first part of Friday, with the best chance of occurrence being on Thursday.
Again, highs are in the mid 40s to mid 50s through this period, with lows either side of 30º.
Some wind may accompany this system, but at the very least, on the backside as it lifts north and away from us late week, it may get windy and cooler.
Beyond that, a more active pattern continues to look more likely than not for the first half of November, and I can’t rule out wintry mischief for the western MA regional high terrain and also SVT / SWNH.
I am going to take tomorrow / Sunday off from reporting to get some rest after a long day today at the Southern New England Weather Conference, and will gleefully be starring in my new one-man play entitled “PajamaMan” as I watch the Pats hopefully make it to 6-2.
Have a great rest of your weekend!
