SUPER NICE DAY TO KICK OFF OUR WEEK WITH MORE SHOWERS, DOWNPOURS AND THUNDERSTORMS FOR TUESDAY AFTERNOON, NIGHT AND POTENTIALLY WEDNESDAY AS WELL…AFTER THAT, FAIR WEATHER THU.-SUN.

Good morning folks, we’ve got a lovely day ahead to add on to yesterday’s sweetness, so savor it because we’ve got more showers, downpours, and some thunderstorms for some ready to move back into the region with a humid flow for Tuesday and Wednesday prior to breaking out into a longer multi-day stretch of fair, summery weather with decent to good air quality.

For today, fairly-weak high pressure will build eastward across the New England and position south of us by later tonight, which will direct a more humid and unsettled air mass our way by Tuesday.

Before that happens, we’ll enjoy a lovely Monday with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s under mostly sunny skies with a light southwest wind developing by later afternoon and evening. Clouds will increase tonight with lows in the mid to upper 50s.

For Tuesday, moisture will increase from south to north in our region, and first showers will arrive either side of noon, and some cells may feature heavier rainfall. Highs will rise into the 70s to near 80º.

As the afternoon progresses, the first of two cold fronts will be tracking toward our region for Tuesday night.

This will allow a deeper fetch of moist air to be drawn northward into our region, which will help develop scattered areas of showers, downpours and thunderstorms, which should become more numerous towards late afternoon and the overnight period. Lows will dip into the low to mid 60s.

Some storms may become stronger and there’s a low chance for a severe thunderstorm, though that be more likely for Wednesday IF the second/final cold front holds off arriving until the afternoon to allow instability to better pool at our surface with the warming of the middle of the day.

Regardless, more wet weather is on the way for Tuesday afternoon, and especially Tuesday evening, night, and into Wednesday with downpours at times and areas street flooding. Highs Wednesday will reach the low 70s to low 80s with continued humid conditions.

Smoke may knock down air quality Tuesday and Wednesday as well, but it shouldn’t be at very unhealthy or hazardous levels if it does materialize.

By Wednesday night, any shower, downpours or thunderstorms will be cleared out of our region, and lows will drop into the 50s as we dry out late.

Thursday through the weekend looks to feature incoming sprawling high pressure with sunny skies, lower humidity to end the week, and increasingly warm temps and a tick up in humidity for the weekend, especially by Sunday into Monday.

Highs will reach the 70s Thursday and Friday, and then the 80s over the weekend, with some upper 80s possible by Sunday and Monday.

Have a great day!

YOUR NUTSHELL:
–The majority of the next 7 days features fair weather, except for Tuesday and Wednesday
–Air quality may decrease somewhat as some smoke gets wrapped into the flow that brings showers/storms to us Tues./Wed.
–Beautiful today, warming to the mid 70s to low 80s after a chilly start in the 40s and low 50s
–Light west to southwest wind develops later, lows in the mid to upper 50s with increasing clouds

–First scattered showers arrive sometime around noon or early afternoon, and a few may be heavy
–Highs will climb well into the 70s
–Towards dinner time into the early evening, showers become more numerous with downpours and some thunderstorms
–There’s a low chance for stronger to even isolated severe thunderstorms Tuesday night as the first of two cold fronts approaches
–Lows will hang in the low to mid 60s with weather continuing
–By Wednesday, additional areas of showers, downpours and thunderstorms are expected, and if the cold frontal passage is delayed, a better chance for strong thunderstorms exists
–Highs will reach the low 70s to low 80s under mostly cloudy skies, with a few showers in the evening as lows dip into the 50s
–High pressure will slowly build east from the Great Lakes starting Thursday as our upper trough finally kicks east and out of New England
–This will allow for fair weather to develop, along with increasingly sunny skies, and pleasant conditions with lower humidity behind Wednesday’s second/final cold frontal passage
–Highs will be in the 70s Thursday, the mid 70s to low 80s Friday, and then well into the 80s over the weekend as humidity increases by Sunday into Monday, which also looks nice and sunny-summery
