WARMING BEGINS TODAY AND LASTS THROUGH FRIDAY WHEN HEAT AND HUMIDITY PEAKS LATE WEEK… DRY TODAY FOLLOWED BY WEDNESDAY PM SHOWERS WITH A WARM FRONT… SHOWERS/STORMS THURS/FRI PM...

Good morning folks, it’s a pleasantly cool morning for this writer with temps in the upper 40s and 50s for many of us to get started into this day we’re still here for, so be sure to look for at least one thing that’s beautiful – it’s there, trust me, and one of those things is today’s weather!

For our Tuesday, we’ve got high pressure now positioned to our south and that will help open the WarmingGates (yes I know that’s a word) via southerly flow to push our highs up and into the upper 70s to well into the 80s (higher temps in the valley) under mostly sunny skies with comfortable humidity. Lows tonight will drop into the mid to upper 50s under mostly clear skies so look for the crescent moon in the east if you rise before dawn Wednesday morning!

Said high pressure will, given its position, help push a warm front our way by Wednesday afternoon, so after a partly sunny start we’ll see clouds build in the afternoon with high temps in the mid 70s to low 80s.

Some afternoon scattered showers with a possible downpour or thunderstorm will push into the region through the evening as the front comes through, set to raise our humidity levels for the late-week period. Lows Wed. night dip to either side of 60º.

By Thursday and Friday our humidity levels will come up, so expect hazy, hot and humid conditions with highs in the mid 80s to low 90s each day with dewpoints in the 60s to low 70s which will push heat indices into the mid 90s at least, possibly prompting the hoisting of some Heat Advisories for southern valley areas in the Springfield to Hartford stretch at least.

Hit or miss showers and thunderstorms will be possible each afternoon in the humid air mass and lows will hang in the 60s both nights.

By the weekend, our upper ridge should recede south and flatten out to a more zonal (or west-east orientation) vs. more south-north orientation (the latter of which you need to pump the heat and humidity into New England).

This will allow highs to rise into the upper 70s to 80s under partly sunny skies each day, with a few showers possible in the afternoon.

By next week, we should see temps continue to rest into a more seasonable pattern of 70s with some 80s, and a few more chances at wet weather as systems track around the bottom of a trough that will sit in the middle of the country and sort of bob east, so I will keep you updated on those future developments.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!

YOUR NUTSHELL:
–High pressure south of us warms us up into the upper 70s to mid 80s today, sunny, low humidity
–Lows drop into the mid to upper 50s under partly cloudy skies
–Wednesday features a warm front arriving, so clouds build in the afternoon
–Highs reach the mid 70s to low 80s due to cloud cover, and showers arrive by mid to late afternoon
–Showers should be strewn about the greater WMass region Wed. night with lows in the 50s
–Thursday and Friday are hazy, hot and humid with highs in the mid 80s to low 90s and dewpoints well into the 60s to low 70s with heat indices into the mid 90s
–Call it partly sunny both days, especially in the morning, then afternoon hit or miss thunderstorms and downpours form
–Lows both nights dip into the 60s, so mild humid nights ahead
–By the weekend, our flow turns more westerly than southerly, bringing some relief to humidity, and lower temps
–Highs are expected to cool into the upper 70s to 80s for highs (which is still above seasonable averages) under partly sunny skies with a few isolated showers possible each afternoon
–Early next week looks to feature fair weather and highs in the 70s to low 80s
