SCATTERED SHOWERS AND DOWNPOURS THIS MORNING BECOME LIGHTER AND MORE RELEGATED TO ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE PIKE BY AFTERNOON… SUNSHINE AND NORTHWEST FLOW DEVELOPS WED. INTO THURS.
Good morning folks, we’ve had a nice drink of rainfall over the past 18-24 hours with many areas seeing over three-quarters of an inch, and some over 2”, so we’ll take it. But wait! There’s more!
We do have additional scattered showers, some on the heavier side, that will track northeast through the region this morning, and then for areas mostly north of the Pike, we should remain mostly cloudy with a few patches of drizzle or an isolated shower here and there.
Areas south of the Pike, and especially in north-central and northeast CT, should see another area of lighter showers redevelop there this afternoon and then exit the region by this evening, before midnight.
Highs will be cool, but not as cool as yesterday, reaching the mid 60s to mid 70s, with lows tonight in the 50s with patchy fog developing.
For our Wednesday and Thursday, we’ve got high pressure spilling into the region which will produce a light northwest to eventually westerly wind with sunshine expected and highs in the 70s to near 80º each day. Lows will dip into the 50s Wednesday night, but hang around either side of 60º on Thursday.
Clouds will increase as a boundary extending into the Ohio Valley and towards New England will help focus some scattered showers and thunderstorms into the greater WMass region to end our work week. Highs will similarly be in the 75-80º range and humidity will increase.
Showers should still be possible by Saturday, but I do expect a partly sunny sky at times, and once we move into Sunday and Monday, even more sunshine will develop with warmer highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s.
So no big storms after today’s drink to discuss, though Friday could produce a few stronger storms so I will keep you updated as we get closer.
Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
