WINTER HOLDS ON THROUGH NEXT WEEK, THEN SIGNS OF MODERATION AS WE ENTER METEOROLOGICAL SPRING… BLACK ICE EARLY THIS MORNING IN SPOTS… MILDER TEMPS PEAK INTO SATURDAY… COLD SUNDAY

Good morning folks, we’ve got sunshine developing today, but do have a bit of black ice and patches of freezing fog with temps in the 25-30º range out the door this morning, so watch for slick spots.

High pressure is going to dominate our weather through Saturday so I expect partly to mostly sunny skies through this three-day period with increasing temps, rising from the low to mid 30s today, to the mid to upper 30s tomorrow, and then the mid to upper 40s on Saturday!

40s are the new 60s, hey now!

There is a system passing south of us tonight, so some clouds will increase in southern areas, and lows will drop into the single digits to teens overnight.

Lows will then hang in the 20s Friday night and Saturday night, and speaking of Saturday night we’ll see clouds increase ahead of yet another Arctic cold frontal approach.

It really has been a Winter, hasn’t it? Even I’m ready for milder temps, and as a loooooong time snow lover, that’s saying something!

Speaking of snow (sorry), we probably will see some snow showers move through early Sunday morning with this cold front and some coatings are possible in spots.

After the front passes through, some partial sunshine should develop with highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s followed by cold lows way down into the single digits under clearing skies.

On Monday, it will be unseasonably cold AGAIN with highs in the upper teens to mid 20s under mostly sunny skies with lows in the single digits.

By Tuesday, we start to moderate as a storm tries to gather itself together to our west along a thermal boundary with cold temps north and warm temps south.

This may push accumulating snowfall into our region for later Tuesday and Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning with highs Tuesday on the upper 20s to mid 30s.

If this hits, it would be a light to moderate snowfall, so I don’t expect a major snowstorm, if it comes to pass.

Then we’ve got perhaps one more late-week chance at some rain or snow and signals are then growing for warming temperatures, so I will keep an eye on that and update you as we get closer, and as we move into March and head towards Spring!

Have a great day!
