BREEZY, SUNNIER AND COOLER TODAY, CHILLY TONIGHT, LOVELY & AUTUMNAL SATURDAY… SUNDAY LOOKS RAINY, WITH FAIR WEATHER NEXT WEEK… LATE WEEK COASTAL STORM POSSIBLE…

Good morning folks, we’ve got some patchy fog in spots this morning and it’s still humid and damp out there, but we’ll be drying through the day behind our frontal boundary. Cool air will lag the front, so we’ll enjoy one more warm day with highs in the upper 60s to upper 70s, but we won’t see 70º for a bunch of days, so pull out those ACs this weekend and get ready for pumpkin spice everything ‘cause here… we…. Go.

For today, sunshine will increase as high pressure moves into the region. Northwest winds will result from that gradient but shouldn’t gust to much more than 20mph or so at times, especially first half of the day.

Mostly sunny skies will push the blue above and our warm highs in the 70s will not be retouched until… ?

Cooler and drier air really settle in tonight as Canadian high pressure pushes towards our region, resulting in lows in the upper 30s to mid 40s under calming winds.

Saturday is looking so so lovely, and great for any… wait for it… outdoor Fall activities as the Equinox comes Tuesday, but the weather conditions arrives this weekend.

Highs will be cooler, only reaching the upper 50s in the hills to upper 60s down in the Pioneer Valley under plenty of sunshine. Lows will drop into the 40s as we cloud up.

We head from Saturday night into Sunday morning a warm front and low pressure system will track our way out of the upper Ohio Valley and Great Lakes region, and spread rainfall into the greater WMass region by early to mid Sunday morning with first showers at that time.

Some heavier rain elements should move through, but exact track of that heaviest rain is still uncertain. Generally speaking, we can expect a half inch to an inch of rain, so certainly more than yesterday’s boundary passage.

It will also be quite cool with highs only in the low 50s to low 60s on Sunday, so if you like football and you like soup, you could combine the two, or just stay inside and putter in whatever way works best for you, but it’s looking like a raw and wet day to end our weekend. Periods of showers should continue at night and wind down late with lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s.

On Monday, early morning showers or clouds should give way to more partly sunny skies by afternoon with continued cool high temps in the upper 50s to mid 60s with partly to mostly cloudy skies at night and lows in the 40s.

To be clear, we are not warming up next week. Highs should generally be in the 50s in the high terrain and low to mid 60s in the valley areas through much of the week.

The Tuesday to late week period is looking more uncertain, to be honest, as we could see more showers Tuesday and Tuesday night, but that depends on positioning of high pressure at that time, which may shunt that system south of us, so I will have to update as we get closer.

Wednesday looks like a lovely day at the moment with partly to mostly sunny skies, but I keep seeing coastal storm signals for either later Thursday or Friday, and it could be a pretty strong storm that adds a wind component to the forecast, along with potential for steadier rainfall.

There’s a number of systems to track, and I will keep you updated as we move through all of it.

Have a great day!
