DRYING, INCREASING SUNSHINE, BREEZY, COOLER TODAY… SUNNY, COOLER AND CALMER FRIDAY… SATURDAY AFTERNOON SHOWERS, ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF THE RT. 2 CORRIDOR IN MA & CT. MOTHER’S DAY=NICE

Good morning folks, our rainfall has finally cleared the region during the pre-dawn hours, just exiting northeast CT this early post-dawn. Going forward today, northwest breezes to 20mph, increasing sunshine and highs in the mid 50s to mid 60s will produce a cooler but very pretty Thursday.

Winds should begin to tamp down tonight under partly cloudy skies with lows dropping into the mid 30s to low 40s by morning, so it’ll be chilly out the door for our Friday morning.

During the day itself, Friday looks sunny, less windy, and should feature similar high temps (mid 50s to low 60s, with lows either side of 40º as clouds increase).

While we’re here, I think it’s pretty likely that temps will remain fairly consistent through into the first part of next week (highs mid 50s to low 60s, lows upper 30s to mid 40s) save for Mother’s Day which should give us a bump into the 65-70º range or so, which is great timing for Mom!

Saturday features the development of scattered showers as a weak wave pushes east into the region, with the bulk of any showers likely falling south of the Rt. 2 corridor in MA and CT.

Rain should begin more towards late morning or noon and last into the evening before quitting overnight.

Mother’s Day Sunday is looking lovely, to be honest, with highs in that 65-70º range with some lower 70s possible in the lower Pioneer Valley under partly sunny skies, before clouds increase later in the day.

Our system for late Sunday night into Monday should produce some showers, but the trend has been shying away from the idea of northern stream and southern stream systems phasing together or “joining hands” to produce a bigger rainfall.

Still, I suppose we’ll take what we can get in the Sky Water Department and hope for more after the two-tenths to three-quarters of an inch we saw from yesterday’s system.

By Monday afternoon through Tuesday it looks like fair weather to me, followed by a few showers possible on Wednesday, but again, no big warm-ups or big storms in sight at the moment. Steady as we go.

Have a great day!
