FULL FLOWER MOON THIS EVE WITH A BLUE MOON END OF MONTH, WELCOME TO MAY! GORGEOUS DAY FOLLOWED BY SCATTERED SHOWERS EARLY AFTERNOON. SUNDAY FEATURES SOME SHOWERS EAST OF I-91

Good morning folks, we have a gorgeous day to look forward to today with sunshine and highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s and a light wind so be sure to get out and enjoy it, as the weekend looks a bit unsettled (though no washouts are expected).

Lows tonight will drop into the upper 30s to mid 40s with clouds increasing as a weak shortwave tracking around the southern base of our upper low centered over southwest Quebec pushes showers east and through the greater WMass region overnight into the early to mid morning of Saturday.

This doesn’t look like a big rain producer, but we’ll take anything we can get at this point in time.

After some morning showers, we should develop at least some sunny breaks by Saturday afternoon with highs in the 50s, and hopefully some more sunshine will break out to produce a partly sunny vs. a mostly cloudy day.

Clouds will thicken back up east of the I-91 corridor as a coastal storm has been trending more northwest in its Sunday position (still expected to be southeast of The Benchmark, so not a direct hit for our region). Lows will drop into the mid 30s to low 40s.

Showers are now expected to extend back into northeast CT, central MA south of Rt. 2, and possibly even eastern Hampden/Hampshire Counties Sunday morning, before the storm pulls away on Sunday afternoon.

Highs will again be in the 50s on Sunday, with some partial sunshine expected by afternoon (and areas well west of I-91 may see a partly sunny day all day!). Lows will drop into the low to mid 30s.

By Monday and Tuesday, high pressure replaces the low to our south and will drive southwest wind gusts of 20-30mph and warmer temps into the greater WMass region with mostly sunny skies expected.

Highs will reach the upper 50s to upper 60s on Monday, and then well into the 70s for Tuesday before another cold front approaches the region for Wednesday.

This will bring more showers through and cool temps back into the 60s for highs before another low pressure center tracks northeast through New England by Thursday morning, pushing steadier, heavier rainfall into our region.

Here’s hoping we get a solid rainfall from that system!

Highs will tamp back down into the 50s for Thursday and Friday as our up-and-down pattern continues, but at least Tuesday will provide an early summer taste for those eager to take a bite.

Have a great day!
