CLOUDS TODAY, RAIN TONIGHT, A FEW SHOWERS TOMORROW THEN COOLER, DRIER, AND WINDIER FOR THANKSGIVING DAY… BERKSHIRE SNOW SHOWERS AND A BLUSTERY FRIDAY
Good morning folks, to start off today I wanted to remind everybody that the March for the WMass Food Bank ends today up in Greenfield. Any one of us for reasons that are unforeseen and unpredictable could need the services and resources of the WMass Food Bank at any point in our lives, so please do donate to this effort to end hunger in our region, even if all you can do is $5, it all helps our neighbors.
Simply go to the following website for more info on who to give and participate and thank you.
As for our weather, we’ve got rainfall on the way for tonight, but until then we’ll be dealing with thickening clouds as a warm front pushes into and through our region today and tomorrow. Highs today will reach the upper 40s to low 50s with showers holding off until around sunset.
Rainfall should move into the region from west to east between 5-9pm, and we’ll enjoy a more or less stratiform (i.e. steady and mostly widespread) rainfall overnight with a light to moderate intensity as lows dip into the upper 30s to mid 40s.
That steady rain should be out of here by dawn tomorrow, but we’ll be fully in the warm sector (the region between a warm front to our east, and a cold front to our west with a low pressure center well to our north). As such, scattered showers will be possible during the day with highs spiking into the 55-60º range.
As the cold front sweeps in Wednesday night, showers should increase and then quit before Thanksgiving morning with lows dropping into the low to mid 30s behind the front.

The Thanksgiving Day through Saturday period looks windy in general, with a pick up in gusts to 30mph or so Thursday, peaking in the 25-40mph range on Friday, and then slackening on Saturday.
We should be dry on Thanksgiving Day with highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s under partly to mostly sunny skies, with lows in the mid 20s to upper 20s as windy conditions continue and a few Berkshire snow showers become possible in the pre-dawn hours into early Friday morning.
Friday is a wintry feel with westerlies gusting 25-40mph under partly sunny skies with highs in the mid 30s to low 40s, and scattered lake effect snow showers in the western high terrain west of I-91 in CT, MA and SVT. Lows will be cold and firmly in the 20s.
Saturday represents another mostly sunny, cold day with highs in the 35-40º range and lows in the low to mid 20s as breezy conditions slacken to light to calm by the night time.
Sunday will feature building clouds ahead of another northern tracking low pressure system that will sweep another warm front our way with more rainfall late in the day and especially Sunday night into early Monday, leading to another spike in temps with highs in the 50s probably for Monday.
Have a great day!
