WARMTH & WIND PEAKS TODAY / TUESDAY… ISOLATED SHOWER OR T-STORM POSSIBLE, ESPECIALLY LATE… RAIN THEN ARRIVES WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, LASTS THRU TO THURSDAY MORNING… COOLER LATE WEEK

Good morning folks, remember to check the Nutshell & Celestials at the bottom if you’re low on time. I hope things go well for you today in some way, and I know for summah lovahs, it certainly will go well for you as the warmth is on the way – for a day. Wind is on tap as well, and along with dry ground fuels, the ability for ground fires to spread quickly will present itself so please be responsible around any ignition sources.

For our Tuesday, highs will reach the mid 70s to low 80s under partly to mostly sunny skies. However, the air will not be “quiet” and still, given that we’re stuck smack dab between a 990mb low pressure system over southern Canada to our northwest, and a 1020mb high pressure system over the western Atlantic to our southeast.

This is producing more closely-packed isobars over our region today, but what does that mean?

That means A) each line of equal pressure (i.e. “isobar”) is closer in proximity to each other one, and B) that creates wind moving from high pressure to low pressure.

Therefore, this will produce southwest wind gusts of 25-40mph today, especially during the afternoon and early evening, and it is these warm, windy, and dry conditions that will enhance the risk for ground fire spread today and this evening, so please be mindful of any spring burns or any butts you want to flick (which is dumb to do).

Yes, there are some isolated showers tracking into SVT this morning, and more isolated showers or a t-storm are possible this evening, but we’re mostly dry today. Lows tonight will drop into the 50s.

Clouds will increase tomorrow / Wednesday, and thanks to an incoming cold front draped southward off of the aforementioned Canadian low center, rain will arrive either side of mid-day and press east through the region. Highs will be in the 60s.

Showers will continue during Wednesday night with lows in the 40s and patchy fog will be possible, with showers winding down by Thursday morning.

By Thursday afternoon, we should get some sunshine to develop as the front pulls away with highs rising into the upper 50s to mid 60s, followed by lows in the mid 30s to low 40s.

Friday looks lovely with sunshine and highs similar to Thursday, and lows in the 30s, followed by increasing clouds over the weekend.

A couple of disturbances may push more shower activity into our region for Saturday afternoon, and again Sunday night into early Monday, so we may be dealing with unsettled period this weekend and to kick off next week. Highs will be in the low to mid 60s.

However, there is one bright spot, and that may be for Mother’s DAY on Sunday, with warmer highs cresting to either side of 70º along with a chance for a period of partial sunshine for Mom, so I will keep you updated on that and the rest of the forecast we get closer.

Have a great day!
