THUNDER POSSIBLE WITH STEADIER RAIN IN NORTHERN MA, SVT, AND SWNH, MORE ISOLATED SOUTH FOR THIS MORNING… WARMER FOR MANY EXCEPT EASTERN AREAS… MORE SHOWERY PERIODS TONIGHT...

Good morning everybody, I would encourage you to read or re-read the Nutshell below as I think it does a decent job of explaining the up/down, side-side, back-front seesaw setup we’ll be enduring through Monday morning.

Here’s the seesaw pattern from today through Monday in list form:

–We have a frontal boundary north of us right now
–This has put us on its warm side, highs 60s to low /mid 70s later
–This front will then push southwest this evening to cool down eastern parts of SWNH and CMass, temps into the 40s to 50º by late afternoon there
–By tomorrow, it will then lift back north as a warm front for Wednesday which should warm all of us into the 60s to low/mid 70s
–Then, it will be shoved back south by high pressure to our northeast for Thursday which will cool us way down into the upper 30s to mid 40s
–Then, it will be shoved back to our north as developing Great Lakes low pressure dumps snow in Ontario and passes north of New England, putting us back in a warming southwest flow for Friday through Sunday with highs 65-70º
–Finally, we’ll see ANOTHER cold front push all of that warmth out to sea which will make for a colder and blustery Monday with highs in the 40s

Are you exhausted?

Me, too. Time for a napzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……

#SeesawWeather

For today, tonight, and tomorrow morning we’ve got periods of showers this morning, heaviest along and north of Rt. 2 in MA, VT and NH.

Another slug of showers, downpours with some thunder will sweep through the region later morning into early afternoon, with a lull that follows.

Another round of showers with another wave moves in later this evening and overnight, likely tapering off by Wednesday morning.

After that, activity should be light, and isolated to widely scattered for the rest of Wednesday into Wednesday night, but I will provide an update later this afternoon regarding the Wednesday to Friday timeframe.

Have a great day!

YOUR NUTSHELL:
–Challenging, complex forecast with unknowns about exact frontal placement later today
–Showers wane for a while south of Rt. 2 corridor with heavier activity north of there early this morning
–Some thunder possible, and another burst of showers or thunderstorms possible by later morning into mid-day everywhere in the region
–Lull this afternoon, with more showers tonight, some look to be heavy at times
–Highs reach the 60s to low 70s or so by this afternoon, with backdoor cold front dropping temps in eastern CMass / SWNH into the 40s by dinner time possible
–Periods of showers tonight last into early Wednesday morning
–Warm front fights back and pushes all of us into the 60s to low/mid 70s for Wednesday highs
–Widely scattered showers at times Wednesday into Wednesday night as a cold front draws closer from our north
–Lows drop into the mid 30s to low 40s Wednesday night as the front presses through, with Thursday highs mainly in the 40s with a few showers around
–Front then presses north AGAIN as a warm front with low pressure tracking through Great Lakes well north of us
–Warmer air arrives Friday through Sunday with highs well into the 60s and lows in the 40s
–Isolated to scattered showers possible at times before a cold front pushes in for Sunday afternoon or night with rain
–Stronger northwest gusts behind this pattern-clearing front will make it blustery for Monday morning with scattered Berkshire snow showers possible
