ISOLATED SHOWER POSSIBLE TODAY, OTHERWISE SUNNIER AND WARMING TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON… HIGHS MAY HIT 90º BY FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY… A COLD FRONT BRINGS SOME SHOWERS SATURDAY

Good morning folks, the upcoming forecast has tons of no-big-whoop wrapped in and around it, which means that other than some heat building (with low humidity, mind you) for late week into Saturday before we get some showers in here Saturday night into Sunday, it’s peace-in-the-valley weather conditions as far as I can see, which is why I’m taking the next 2 days off from reporting while I can.

For today’s weather, it looks to be mostly sunny with some afternoon cumulus clouds bubbling up. A cluster of those may drop an isolated shower in truly sporadic fashion. Otherwise, we’re sunny for several consecutive days through Friday with increasing temps the whole way.

For our Tuesday, highs reach the mid 60s to mid 70s from the hilltowns and mountains down into the valley (cooler at elevation, warmer near the CT River). Lows will dip into the 45-50º range.

For our Wednesday, highs climb into the mid 70s to low 80s with lows in the low to mid 50s, and by Thursday highs should rise into the upper 70s to potentially upper 80s in the valley under sunny skies, with lows in the 50s.

By Friday and Saturday, an upper ridge will gain its furthest latitude north and east, helping to loft our temps up and into the mid 80s to low 90s both days, but through this stretch dewpoints are expected to remain reasonable, hanging in the 40s and 50s mostly, and *maybe* in the low 60s by Saturday as our cold front presses into the region from the northwest.

After a partly sunny Saturday morning into mid-day, our only real rain chance that I can foresee over the next 7 days or so is Saturday evening into part of Sunday with showery conditions that may linger longer on Sunday depending on whether or not a weak wave of low pressure develops and tracks east along said front as it slowly passes from north to south through the greater WMass region.

Temps will drop into the 70s for highs by Sunday and those types of temps will linger into early next week as we dry out by Monday.

I am taking advantage of this week’s fair weather, and taking the next two days off from reporting, and will be back here on Friday, as well as on The River 93.9FM with Steve Sanderson at 7:30am then.

Thanks for reading, and have a great rest of your week, and I’ll be back for more weather blabberings on Friday!
