BLIZZARD LIKELY OUT TO SEA… CAPE TO GET GRAZED… NOVA SCOTIA TO GET SLAMMED… COLD AND FAIR HERE WITH SUNDAY BLUSTERY WIND AND BELOW ZERO WIND CHILLS… NEXT SNOW CHANCES THURS, SAT...

Good morning folks, there isn’t a whole lot to discuss as we find ourselves in this persistence pattern of deep winter cold that is going to have a lock on us for a while yet. Our blizzard is still slated to head out to sea while grazing the Cape and pasting New Scotland (Nova Scotia) Sunday into Monday.

For us, we’ve got a series of 3 cross-polar Arctic high pressure centers that will keep delivering the cold down into the northeast U.S. through this weekend, next week, and through next weekend, and likely beyond into the middle of February at least the way it looks now.

Notably, it’ll be gusty at times out of the west this morning with very cold wind chills, but that wind should slacken and die down until Sunday afternoon when northerlies will develop behind our departing ocean blizzard (when I come out with my trusty line of cool summer drinks, you can rest assured that the #1 seller will be Ocean Blizzard. I can hear it now… “Ocean Blizzard: for the hot times”).

Details for daily impacts can be found in the Nutshell above, but suffice it to say it’ll be very cold through the weekend and into Monday morning, with a bit of an easing on the super cold conditions early to middle of next week.

After that, we’ll have to see if a system sliding through the Ohio Valley stays to our south or if it gains latitude and delivers some snow to our region, and/or if during that following weekend could an expected stronger upper level low nearby steer some snow our way.

I will keep you updated on all of it! Thank you so much, Dave.
