A LAST DAY OF SWEETNESS DELIVERS US TO A THIRST-QUENCHING PERIOD OF SKY WATER ROUGHLY MIDNIGHT TO NOON TOMORROW… COOLER THROUGH THE WEEKEND WITH MOSTLY DRY CONDITIONS...

Good morning folks, we’ve got one last mild / warm-ish day to enjoy with partial sunshine on the earlier side before clouds thicken and rain arrives later tonight.

Highs will reach the mid 60s to low 70s with a light south wind. Onshore flow will develop and push a few showers into eastern MA or southeast NH, but should mostly just add to clouds for us here in the greater WMass region.

Meanwhile, a potent little cold front will be sweeping from west-southwest to east-northeast by early tonight which will thicken our cloud deck as temps fall into the 40s by early morning.

Showers will arrive either side of midnight, and just after midnight for most of us with rainfall lasting through Thursday morning and tapering off from southwest to northeast by early afternoon or so with highs in the 50s.

A few scattered showers will be possible later in the afternoon and evening as the upper low approaches from the west. Lows will dip into the mid to upper 30s.

Again, Friday through Sunday will feature the upper low and trough tracking slowly east through southeastern Canada, which will serve to keep our temps cooler than average, with highs in the upper 40s to upper 50s and lows in the low to mid 30s Friday and Saturday night.

This may prompt Frost Advisories for areas like Litchfield County CT where the growing season has started.

A few showers may be possible Saturday due to a weak wave moving through, and with a nearby upper low, you can never rule out a spot shower or sprinkle at times each afternoon through the weekend.

After lows dip into the mid to upper 30s Sunday night, we’ll get another milder period to develop the first half of next week with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s as gusty southwest winds kick up. Some showers are possible Tuesday with a front, but after we crest 70º by Wednesday and Thursday, a stronger cold front may bring a period of stronger showers and thunderstorms, so I will keep you updated on that piece.

It does look ANOTHER upper trough may swing east into New England behind the front, so more cool temps to end next week can’t be ruled out.

Have a great day and hold the door open for somebody today, if you can!
