A GORGEOUS, SUNNY, AND MILD TUESDAY AWAITS FOLLOWED BY A RAINY WEDNESDAY MORNING… COOLER, CLOUDIER LATE WEEK, COOLER SUNNIER THIS WEEKEND…

Good morning folks, a number of us received a nice drink of sky water yesterday, with what amounted to our first “upslope event” setting up in real time over the Berkshires, southwest VT, and parts of far northwest CT into a few western hilltowns.

The orientation of the upper low ended up producing a stratiform rainfall over parts of our western high terrain, much like it does in the winter when those areas can receive several inches of snow on the back side of a cold front or departing storm, so perhaps that’s a harbinger of the next season to come.

In the wake of the departing upper low that helped assist with our rainfall production yesterday, we’ve got a sunny Tuesday on the docket, and highs should climb well into the 60s on southwest flow with breezy conditions at times.

We don’t have many days like this left as we start to stare down November, so get out and enjoy it, even if only for 5 minutes!

Clouds increase tonight and showers will develop either side of midnight, with an increase in shower activity during the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday as another frontal boundary and upper low behind it tracks east into New England.

Wednesday morning will be wet with cluster of showers, some heavy, moving through the region from southwest to northeast, and probably dissipating by late morning.

Highs will rise into the low to mid 60s, and behind the front a few scattered showers should develop in the afternoon, especially across the Berkshires, the northwest hilltowns and Franklin County up into SVT/SWNH as the front peels away and the upper low pushes into the region.

Lows will drop into the mid 30s to low 40s under partly cloudy skies with a spot shower possible.

On Thursday, the valley looks to produce more sunshine than the high terrain to the west, so we’ll call it a partly sunny day on average with more clouds over the hills, and a few spot showers possible. Highs will reach the mid to upper 50s with lows I the upper 30s to low 40s.

Friday should feature more partly sunny skies with dry conditions expected and highs again in the 50s with lows in the 30s.

As high pressure drops down out of Ontario and western Quebec, Canada this weekend, mostly sunny skies will develop with cool highs still in the 50s and with lows in the 30s.

By early next week, there’s a low chance for some showers by late Monday or Tuesday, but that system could easily drive south of us and leave us with fair weather, so I will keep you updated.

Have a great day!
