PARTIAL SUNSHINE TODAY WITH A FEW ISOLATED SHOWERS THIS AFTERNOON… CLOUDS BUILD SATURDAY MORNING WITH MORE WIDESPREAD SHOWERS BY MID-DAY, STEADIEST ALONG & SOUTH OF RT. 2…

Good morning folks, together we continue to pass over and around the foothills of Mt. NoBigWhoopington in terms of our weather with no severe storms, flooding, super strong wind, hail, or anything of that magnitude, but we do have a few decent showery periods upcoming for Saturday afternoon, Sunday night into Monday morning, and possibly again by next Thursday morning, and we need the rainfall. After next weekend I also think we start to turn warmer and ply our ships into a deeper later-Spring pattern.

As for today, we’ll move into more of a partly sunny day with a bit more moisture advecting into the region with a mid-level wave that could pop some isolated showers here and there, especially by afternoon. Highs reach the mid 50s to low 60s with generally lighter wind, and any showers should abate tonight with lows in the mid 30s to low 40s.

By Saturday, clouds will build ahead of an incoming warm front that will push our temps up into the low 70s for Mother’s Day, but it will remain cool to start our weekend.

We’re likely dry until about late morning or so on Saturday, then showers will move in with highs in the 55-60º range. The steadiest/heaviest showers should stay mostly along and south of the Route 2 corridor, and rainfall will last into the early evening before the front passes through. Lows will drop to the mid to upper 40s.

On Mother’s Sun Day we should, indeed, see some partial sunshine, especially earlier on in the day with highs soaring into the mid 60s to low 70s with a spot shower or t-storm possible in the early to mid afternoon.

Clouds will be building, and by Sunday evening, all bets are off as a cold front pushes into the region with rainfall that will become steadier Sunday night into Monday morning, with lows in the low to mid 40s.

Rain will quit by later Monday morning and partly sunny skies should develop by afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 50s and lows dropping to either side of 40º.

Tuesday and Wednesday will likely feature high pressure with partly to mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s, and lows in the upper 30s to low 40s, along with a chance for a spot shower by Wednesday afternoon.

Clouds will build Wednesday later afternoon and some additional showers are possible Wednesday night into Thursday, but again, I’ve got three technical meteorological terms for you that sum up this upcoming pattern:

No. Big. Whoop.

Have a great day!
