ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS OR A THUNDERSTORM ANY TIME THROUGH ABOUT MID TO LATER AFTERNOON, THEN DRIER AIR IS EXPECTED TO ARRIVE THIS EVENING… FAIR WEATHER THROUGH THE WEEKEND

Good morning folks, we’re waking up to mostly cloudy skies, some patchy fog, and with wet ground in a number of areas. We do have another round of showers tracking east towards WMass and southwest VT this early morning, and those will re-wet the ground in some of our towns with a few heavier showers possible. Then, a final set of isolated to scattered showers with potential for a downpour or stronger thunderstorm is expected by early afternoon before much drier air works into the region tonight.

For our Wednesday, we’re awaiting a second and final cold front in this recent wet / humid / instability pattern, and we’ve already got a small band of showers ahead of the front tracking towards the greater WMass region.

After that passes, we will probably see one final broken cluster of showers which may contain a downpour or stronger thunderstorm, though this early morning area of showers may steal some of that potential energy, with a lower chance we end up with a totally dry afternoon, but I will monitor it.

Highs today reach the mid 70s to low 80s and after a humid start, much drier air will working into our region tonight behind the cold front.

Lows will drop substantially, winding up in the upper 40s to mid 50s, and dewpoints will be close to that as well, which means both much drier air and a cool start for our Thursday morning, but also some patchy fog will be possible late.

For Thursday and Friday, beautifully fair weather is expected with highs in the 70s to near 80º on Thursday (with lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s), and then reaching the upper 70s to mid 80s for highs on Friday (with lows in the 50s).

The weekend starts to turn a bit more humid, especially by Sunday, but more sunshine is expected with highs again in the upper 70s to mid 80s, and lows in the 55-60º range.

By early next week, we can expect similar temps with no heat waves in sight, but some unsettled conditions work back into the region with a few showers possible Monday, and a potential legit rainstorm on Tuesday as strong low pressure tracks close northern New England, which could mean some thunderstorm activity as well.

I will keep you updated on all of it, and I hope you have a great day!
