MORNING SHOWERS NORTH OF RT. 2 TODAY, POP-UP SHOWERS OR A T-STORM THIS & FRIDAY PM, DRIER SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY AFTERNOON, THEN MORE RAIN SUNDAY EVE INTO MONDAY, PERSEIDS CONTINUE

Good morning folks, we’ve got morning cloudiness around and a cluster of scattered showers in SVT and SWNH that will graze far northern parts of Franklin and Worcester Counties this morning through about 9am or so, and then that activity will abate as clouds eventually break up towards mid-day (first south of Rt. 2, later north of there), revealing partly to mostly sunny skies.

Highs will rise into the mid 70s to mid 80s based on those expectations, and that heating will help combine with the first of two cold fronts coming southeast through the region today and tomorrow to produce some hit or miss showers or a thunderstorm this afternoon or early evening.

Otherwise we’ll be dry and lows will dip into the 50s overnight as humidity starts to lower some more.

By Friday, mostly sunny skies are expected as we await the passage of a second cold front which may spark some afternoon pop-up showers or a thunderstorm, but most of us should be dry the way it looks now with highs in the 70s to low 80s.

Drier air will work into the region behind the front Friday night with lows in the low to mid 50s, and even lower dewpoint temps so the comfort level will continue to increase, and I suggest opening the windows wide tomorrow night.

Saturday will be the weekend pick for sure with highs in the 70s to near 80º under sunny skies with light northwest wind, and low humidity. Lows will dip into the upper 40s to mid 50s with good radiational cooling.

Please remember that the Perseid Meteor showers are ongoing, even though they peaked last night, and that the next two to three nights should produce better viewing opportunities when compared to last night.

By Sunday, we’ll start off sunny and then see clouds increase from west to east by the afternoon with showers arriving by evening or the first part of the night. Highs will rise into the 70s to near 80º with lows in the 55-60º range.

Rain continues Sunday night into Monday morning, and should then abate by mid-day with sunshine developing by afternoon as new high pressure moves into the region Monday night and through mid-week.

Lows Monday night will stay in the 50s, and then we’ll see beautiful conditions for Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s with low humidity and lovely weather.

Have a great day!
