MILDER AND GUSTY TODAY WITH ENHANCED RISK OF BRUSH FIRE SPREAD SO MIND YOUR BUTTS & BURNS… EVEN MILDER FRIDAY, PLENTY OF SUN WITH SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS LATE AT NIGHT. NICE WEEKEND
Good morning folks, we’ve got gobs and gobs of fair weather to look forward to as we’ve finally turned the corner out of Winter and fully into Spring with temps rising into the 50s today and through the weekend with a bump into the 60s for tomorrow / Friday. This will be followed by early Summer temps next Monday through Wednesday before we tamp back down to more seasonable levels late next week, but suffice it to say, we’re moving in a warmer direction.
For today, high pressure kicks east and directs southerly gusts of 15-25mph into our region under sunny skies with highs well into the 50s (lower in the hills and upper in the valley, especially south and east of Northampton).
Sunshine will abound, so get out and enjoy it, but do remember that ground fires can spread more easily today so if you smoke butts or you are burning brush, be mindful and manage that activity properly – you know, think about if a fire spread into your back yard because of a careless neighbor next door or because someone flicked a butt on your lawn, and then don’t do those things yourself – pretty simple.
Lows tonight will dip into the low to mid 30s with a few upper 20s in SVT, which will set us up for an even milder Friday under sunny skies with highs in the low to mid 60s, and a bit less wind.
Clouds increase tomorrow night with scattered showers developing ahead of a weak cold front. Lows will be in the upper 30s to mid 40s, and showers should quit by early Saturday morning.
A lovely weekend will develop with highs mainly in the 50s under sunny skies with breezy northwest winds on Saturday as a new high pressure cell moves east into the region.
Lows Saturday night will dip to near freezing, and then hang in the 40s on Sunday night as a warm front pushes into the region with low pressure passing north of us into Monday.
This will bring some more scattered showers through overnight Sunday, and then leave us with a lovely early week period to look forward to, including mostly sunny skies.
If this Winter really ground you down to the nub, the temps either side of 70º on Monday and either side of 80º on Tuesday and Wednesday with sunny skies is likely to float your boat and massage your bones at the same time, which is a helluva two-fer if you ask me!
More showers will be possible by Wednesday night with a possible cold front, and conditions that are intermittently unsettled (the title of my new book) may show up to end our week with cooler temps.
No Friday morning post, peeps, I’m 10% uglier after this winter, and need some beauty sleep, but I will update in the afternoon before the weekend for sure.
Have a great day!
