COOLER THRU FRIDAY WITH A FEW SHOWERS THIS MORNING, AND AGAIN BY THIS EVENING… SHOWERS BECOME MORE NUMEROUS ON THURSDAY, AND ESPECIALLY BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO THE NIGHT...

Good morning folks, the next 48 hours or so are looking to feature more clouds than sun along with a bout of atmospheric inclemency that will take the form of some scattered Wed. morning showers with a warm front moving in, followed by more showers by this evening, and the potential for more widespread rainfall by Thursday afternoon and night as a coastal low phases with its upper level counterpart by Thursday night.

For today, a warm front pushes through, and will bring with it some scattered lighter showers this morning. Highs will be on the cooler side today, reaching the mid 50s to mid 60s with gusty south winds developing behind the front by this afternoon with sunny breaks possible.

Another round of showers moves in this evening, and we’ll see some scattered showers overnight with lows in the mid to upper 40s.

Thursday holds the potential to be the wettest day overall with a half inch to inch of rain expected at least, with the potential for more by Friday morning.

Highs will again reach the mid 50s to mid 60s under cloudy skies, and as our coastal low tracks south of us and east of the Mid-Atlantic region, steadier and heavier rainfall is expected to push from south to north into our region by afternoon, then tracking northwest, then tracking west off to the ocean like a classic nor’easter.

Yes, we may see a rainy very-late season nor’easter tomorrow for mid May!

An upper low swinging into New England will “capture” it by Thursday night and slow storm movement down, allowing for showers to persist Thursday night and possibly into Friday morning before this whole meteorological morass finally lifts northeast into Atlantic Canada by Friday, with highs reaching the low to mid 60s.

After that, folks, the imprint of the cold season and recent patterns evaporates into late Spring and early Summer, as an upper ridge builds in the eastern U.S. and causes mostly sunny skies to develop Saturday through Tuesday of next week.

In addition, temps are going to soar, reaching the 70s on Saturday, the upper 70s to mid 80s Sunday and Monday, and the mid 80s to low 90s by Tuesday! Summah!

Have a great day!

YOUR NUTSHELL:
–Mostly cloudy today with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s
–Any morning warm frontal showers should lead to a lull by late morning into mid afternoon-ish
–Gusty south winds blow 15-30mph at times
–Scattered showers resume by this evening and overnight with lows in the mid to upper 40s
–Showers are expected to be scattered on Thursday morning, with potential for a soaking rainfall on Thursday afternoon and night with a coastal system
–Highs Thursday reach the upper 50s to mid 60s
–Lows Thursday night dip into the mid to upper 40s
–Rain totals have been trending upward, so I will be watching that
–Friday morning showers should relent and give way to a drier afternoon
–Highs should climb into the low to mid 60s as what may be our final upper low lifts northeast and away from New England
–After one more night of cooler low in the mid to upper 40s, our temps are set to soar as upper level ridging replaces upper level troughing this weekend into early next week
–Expect sunny skies Saturday through Monday with highs Saturday in the 70s, mid 70s to mid 80s Sunday, and upper 70s to mid 80s by Monday
–For Tuesday, it will be hot with highs in the mid 80s to low 90s with a few showers around
–We may be cooling back down behind a cold front during mid-week
