WARMTH IS COMING: EXPECT A LOVELY TUESDAY, SHOWERS AT TIMES WEDNESDAY, RAINY ON THURSDAY, NICER FRIDAY… CHILLY MORNINGS THIS WEEK, INCREASING TEMPS WITH WARMTH BY SAT. THRU TUE...

Good morning folks, time for FaceYoga™ (I made it up, it’s not real) so raise those ‘brows and don a sleepy partial smile your teeth slightly agape, then furrow those brows and tighten that mouth, now raise and smile again, then furrow, then keep ‘em raised and “smiled” because you’re alive and it’s sunny out and it’s gonna get warm this weekend into early next week with plenty of sunshine the way it looks now, so hooray! Woo hoo!

However, you might furrow again because in the very short term it *is* cold outside, with temps in the upper 20s to low 30s in SVT/SWNH, the Berkshires, and some western hilltowns, and the mid 30s to low 40s elsewhere early this Tuesday morning.

Let me know if you saw frost this morning, as I am sure some patchy areas formed, especially at elevation.

Going forward into the day, an upper trough will be swing east and away from Maine, but we’ll still be under its lingering influence with light northwest flow and drying air. Highs will reach the mid 50s to mid 60s today with sunshine and fair weather cumulus clouds at times.

Lows will drop into the low to mid 40s with some upper 30s possible in SVT and far northwest MA, so not as chilly tomorrow morning, but chilly nonetheless.

Clouds will be increasing overnight, and a warm front will start to approach by later Wednesday morning with scattered showers developing by late morning on Wednesday, followed by a lull in the action with more scattered showers later in the afternoon. Highs will climb to either side of 60º.

More scattered showers are expected Wednesday evening, with lows in the mid to upper 40s.

A coastal storm off of the Mid-Atlantic will form and join forces with an upper level low swinging east into the northeast U.S. and to some degree will phase with it.

To what extent that happens will govern how much rainfall we see and how steady it will be for Thursday into Thursday night and Friday morning. For now, expect a rainy day on Thursday, especially by afternoon into the night with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s, with lows in the mid to upper 40s.

Friday morning looks showery for now, but we should see drying and warmer air advancing into our region by Friday afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 60s along with some partial sunshine. Lows will dip into the mid to upper 40s.

Notice that I am not mentioning any 30s for lows, so we’re moving in the right direction!

By the weekend through Tuesday, The Warmening is ON.

Highs will climb into the upper 60s to mid 70s on Saturday and fully into the 70s by Sunday and Monday, prior to reaching the low 80s or so by Tuesday as an upper ridge builds in the east.

Warmth is coming folks, and so is deeper Spring!

Have a great day!
