WARMER TEMPS THIS WEEK WITH A BREEZY/DRY MONDAY, AND SHOWERS TUESDAY MORNING… MORE SHOWERS FOR WEDNESDAY AS A COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH WITH COOLER TEMPS FOR THURSDAY…
Good morning everybody, we’ve got periods of unsettled weather this week, but we’ll get through one more dry day for our Monday, though it’ll likely feature more clouds than sunshine, especially by afternoon.
With high pressure well southeast of us, we’ll be in a milder flow and temps will response, rising into the upper 50s to mid 60s for highs. Wind will also respond, and we’ll see southwest gusts pushing into the 20-35mph range at times, which will enhance fire spread risk for another day.
Clouds will thicken tonight with lows hanging either side of 50º as a few isolated showers develop. However, any wider-spread region of showers will hold off until around dawn tomorrow morning, or just before.
That wave will likely cause a wet Tuesday morning commute, with showers tapering off towards noon, followed by a few isolated showers or a thunderstorm in an otherwise mostly dry afternoon, with highs in the mid to upper 60s. Lows will hang in the low to mid 50s Tuesday night.
By Wednesday, a cold front will be approaching the region as strong high pressure tracks east across southern Ontario and into southern Quebec, which will be pushing colder surface air south towards the greater WMass region.
This will focus another round of showers into our region by mid-day, and a thunderstorm can’t be ruled out by afternoon either. Highs will be well into the 60s, and possibly into the low 70s or so, but I will update temps when we get closer.
The cold front comes through sometime on Wednesday night and drops temps to around 40º, give or take, and will set us up for a much cooler Thursday with highs only in the 40s with a spot shower possible, followed by lows in the 30s.
Friday is truly a toss up at the moment. As high pressure to our north (that was responsible for cooling us on Thursday) tracks east, a storm will track northeast into the Great Lakes, and try to extend a warm front our way. How far north it gets, will play into whether we see a very mild day or continued cool temps similar to what’s expected for Thursday.
Regardless, another cold front is expected to push through by Friday evening and bring more shower activity through by Friday night.
Whether that front lingers into the weekend, or continues to track away from us is also in question in terms of temps, sky cover, etc.
By Sunday another cold front that should sweep this entire mysterious mess out to sea will probably bring more showers by Sunday night into Monday before clearing us out for at least the first half of next week.
Have a great day!
