FLOOD WATCHES CANCELLED… VARYING INTENSITY OF STRATIFORM RAINFALL TODAY, TAPERING OFF TONIGHT, COOL… WARMER AND SUNNIER WED. AND THURS. WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS THURSDAY

Good morning folks, we’ve got a cool, showery day on tap with rain of varying intensity. The Flood Watches in northern CT have been cancelled, so that’s good, but I can’t rule out a bit of thunder later as well some areas of street flooding in heavier showers.

All in all, the more convective tropical air mass is offshore to our south and may graze far southeastern New England later, with the greater WMass region left to deal with more stratiform rainfall and shower activity for much of Tuesday, tapering off tonight from west to east.

Highs will only hang in the 60s, and some folks may fall back into or never leave the upper 50s! As rain tapers off tonight, lows will dip into the 50s with patchy fog developing late.

By tomorrow / Wednesday, we’ll see high pressure push into the region and a bit south of us to help drive temps up some 15-20 degree compared today with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s under developing sunshine – a seasonable summah day!

Lows will sit down to either side of 60º, and then rise further into the 80s on Thursday with more sunshine, followed by scattered showers and thunderstorms later in the day. Lows will drop into the 60s.

By Friday, we should be warming well into the 80s to potentially low 90s for a day with more afternoon showers/storms prior to a cold front pushing through the region, which will set us up for a lovely weekend, the way it looks now.

Highs will fall back into the upper 70s to mid 80s for the weekend into Monday with dry and sunny conditions expected for Saturday and Sunday before a few more showers are possible on Monday.

Have a great a day!

–Lows tonight after showers push east through CMass and NE.CT and end will dip into the 50s with patchy fog possible
–For Wednesday and Thursday high pressure builds into the region and we see temps rise into the mid 70s to low 80s by Wednesday and then the 80s by Thursday
–Lows Wednesday night in the upper 50s to low 60s, with low to mid 60s for lows Thursday night with some scattered showers and thunderstorms possible
