INCREASING SUNSHINE TODAY WITH HUMIDITY SLOWLY GOING UP INTO A SHOWERY THURSDAY AFTERNOON… DRIER FRIDAY & COOLER INTO SATURDAY, THEN SUNDAY RAIN? TO BE DETERMINED…MORE SHOWERS TUE?

Good morning folks, we have a few light showers or sprinkles in parts of our region this early morning, but those will vanish and increasing sunshine will warm us into the 70s today followed by increasing humidity this evening and especially tomorrow afternoon when periods of showers will work through the region with a cold frontal passage into early Friday morning.

For today, any morning clouds will dissipate with time revealing a mostly sunny day that will feature a slow increase in humidity with dewpoints reaching the low 60s by later this afternoon along with a light southwest wind as high pressure positions to New England’s east.

For tonight, lows will dip into the mid to upper 50s with patchy fog possible late.

On Thursday, humidity will increase, and by afternoon we’ll see dewpoints in the 65-70º range which is quite humid, and that will be accompanied by incoming periods of showers, likely more numerous north of the Pike to start, and then we’ll see others tracking along and south of the Pike by later afternoon and evening as well.

Highs will reach well into the 70s to perhaps low 80s with some sunny breaks, and that will provide us with a late-summah feel.

Showers will continue Thursday night but start to break up and move out after midnight with lows either side of 60º.

On Friday, cooler air will lag the frontal passage and so highs under increasingly sunny skies will climb into the upper 60s to upper 70s before they really drop down Friday night with drier air as lows bottom out into the low to mid 40s.

Saturday is definitely going to be the weekend pick with high pressure continuing to press in from the west, which will produce Triple F weather – Full Fall Feel with highs in the 60s, sunny skies, and low humidity. Lows will drop into the mid to upper 40s as clouds increase ahead of a potential set of Sunday showers.

The thing with Sunday is that we’ll have strong high pressure to our northeast diving southeast towards Maine. Its exact track will determine whether or not a shortwave is allowed to track more directly east into the greater WMass region which could drench us with a soaking rainfall, vs. suppressing that system southwest of us, resulting in much less rain, or even no rain for areas like SWNH, northern CMass and eastern Franklin / Hampshire County areas, so I will continue to update as we get closer.

If we were to receive the full measure of that showery system, it would arrive by Sunday morning and rain through much of the day.

Temps would also be affected: rainy system means highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s, vs. less rain and highs more firmly into the 60s to near 70º, so we’ll see.

Monday looks drier, highs in the 60s with more rainfall possible by Tuesday with another system working east out of the Great Lakes and into New England, so lots to track!

Have a great day!
