CLOUDY, DAMP MONDAY WITH PATCHES OF DRIZZLE OR SCATTERED LIGHT SHOWERS… VERY MUGGY LATER… ISOLATED SHOWERS / T-STORMS MOSTLY WEST OF I-91 LATER THIS EVENING… DRIER TUES. & WED...
Good morning folks, it’s a misty morning for many as low level moisture along with scattered light rain showers has brought anywhere from a tenth to a third of an inch of rainfall overnight, with a bit more coming today.
It’s going to be mostly a gray, damp day with patchy drizzle, a few lighter showers, and a chance for isolated but more robust showers with a thunderstorm or two possible later this afternoon and evening, especially west of the I-91 corridor as the cold frontal shower line should weaken a bit as it track east into our region.
Highs today will hang in the 70s as humidity soars into the upper 60s to low 70s, with low air temps tonight behind the cold front dipping into the low to mid 60s with patchy fog possible.
For Tuesday, we may start off with some morning cloudiness and/or a spot shower or two, but we will be in a drying phase as high pressure starts working in from the northwest. This help scattered clouds and produce a mostly sunny afternoon with highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s, followed by lows in the mid 50s to low 60s.
On Wednesday, another beautiful day is expected with sunshine and highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s, with some southern Pioneer Valley towns and/or the Springfield/Hartford stretch hitting the upper 80s in spots. Lows under partly cloudy skies drop into the mid 50s to low 60s.
The late week period of Thursday and Friday holds some uncertainty with potential for scattered showers both days given the likelihood of a frontal boundary taking up residence somewhere to our south which could allow a couple of disturbances to track along it.
It does not look like a washout, but in terms of timing of shower activity, or determining how much we can expect, I’ll have to get closer to parse that out in a more-clear way for you.
High air temps look to reach the low 70s to low 80s both days with lows in the 50s both nights.
For now, Saturday looks like the pick of next weekend with brief high pressure moving in to hopefully provide a mostly sunny day with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s, but clouds will probably increase later in the afternoon, with showers developing late Saturday night, and if not by then, it appears that Sunday will feature wet weather at some point during that 24-hour cycle from Sunday morning to early Monday morning.
Have a great day!
