A COMFORTABLE 3 DAYS LIES AHEAD IN THE WEATHER DEPARTMENT, SAVE FOR AN ISOLATED SHOWER/STORM TODAY, AND RAIN BY SUNDAY NIGHT… LOWER HUMIDITY, INCREASED SUNSHINE, SEASONABLE WARMTH

Good morning folks, our bowling ball mini-tempest that dove southeast through the region yesterday afternoon notably caused some havoc and damage in the Wilbraham area, and also signaled the passage of a cold front that has delivered a gorgeous morning, and will keep delivering niceness today, tomorrow and Sunday with a couple of exceptions possibly later this afternoon and by Sunday evening.

For today, high pressure will start to build into the region as the influence of a departing upper trough keeps tracking east and away through Atlantic Canada.

Said trough will provide one last parting shot with a weak disturbance later this afternoon that could touch off another isolated shower or thunderstorm or two, again tracking southeast into the greater WMass region so keep an eye/ear to the northwest if you’ll be out and about.

Otherwise, we’re much drier humidity-wise and we’ll enjoy sunny highs in the mid 70s to low 80s with lows either side of 50º as a very cool and crispy night sets up. If I was you, I’d be opening up all my windows!

For Saturday, the weekend pick is clear: sunshine, light wind, highs in the 70s to 80º in spots, no rain, low humidity, gorgeous! Lows will drop into the low to mid 50s setting us up for another beautiful Sunday morning.

Sunday is mostly a copy of Saturday, though a little bit warmer, and clouds will be building by mid-afternoon, I believe, but the day should be dry and mostly sunny until we start heading towards the dinner hour, which is when clouds should be thickening up in advance of our rainstorm.

By Sunday evening, showers should arrive in western areas but may hold off until around or after sunset. Regardless, Sunday night looks rainy with lows either side of 60º, and that rain should continue into Monday morning, ending by or before the middle of the day.

Highs Monday climb into the low 70s to low 80s from high terrain to valley, and sunshine should break out sometime during the afternoon as that system keeps moving east.

Our storm’s departure will pull more dry air back into the region Monday night with lows in the mid to upper 50s, followed by a couple of lovely days for Tuesday and Wednesday.

This is good news, because the show I am playing called Transformance at the Pines Theatre stage of Look Park in Florence, MA Tuesday evening from 4:30pm-9:30pm will be super supported by this incoming weather, and you should come out, bring a couple of lawn chairs, and have a nice evening supporting music and the arts in Northampton Public Schools!

So, sunshine Tuesday and Wednesday, highs low 70s to low 80s, lows in the 55-60º range, and dry air will be the feature of our weather story into the middle of next week.

By Thursday, some more rain showers are possible, but no washouts are expected at the moment.

The bottom line is that we’ve got lotsa nice weather coming to our neck of the woods!

Have a great day!
