PATCHY DENSE FOG BURNS OFF BY MID-MORNING… GUSTY & SUNNY AFTERNOON… BIT COOLER FRIDAY LEADS TO SATURDAY P.M. SHOWERS PERHAPS SOUTHERN BERKSHIRES INTO NW.CT… SUNDAY = WEEKEND PICK
Good morning folks, I hope at least one good thing happens to and/or for you today and that it puts a smile on your face, and maybe even raises your eyebrows at the same time. As for our weather, we’ve got gobs of No-Big-Whoop on the way, if you ask me. Yes, it will be seasonable to below-seasonable in temps terms, but no big washouts, no big cold snaps, no big hot streaks, no big severe weather – just a slow slide into Spring.
For today, patchy dense fog will burn off as temps come up through mid to late morning, revealing mostly sunny skies across the greater WMass region with highs in the low 50s in the high terrain to low 60s in the valley, although the Hartford metro / lower CT River Valley may spike into the mid 60s by mid-afternoon.
In addition, our pesky upper low will back southwest into eastern Maine and combine with surface high pressure in western Quebec to send a dry cold front through, which will cause relative humidity to plummet by afternoon, and northwest wind gusts to pick up to 20-35mph at times.
We’ve had some precipitation recently, so we don’t have a major fire spread risk developing, but this afternoon’s conditions could cause some spread so mind your butts and burns, people!
For tonight, wind dies down and lows will drop into the 30s, setting us up for a bit cooler of a day tomorrow with highs mostly in the 50s, with some upper 40s possible in SVT and far northwest MA. Lows again will drop into the 30s.
By Saturday, we’ll start off partly sunny, but a weak storm system will be sliding southeast out of the eastern Great Lakes and headed for the northern Mid-Atlantic region, and could swipe the central/southern Berkshires, southwest hilltowns, and northwest CT with some showers Saturday by later afternoon and especially Saturday night.
Highs Saturday will reach the upper 40s to mid 50s and lows will drop into the 30s with highs on Sunday under partial sunshine reaching the mid 50s to low 60s, so Sunday definitely looks like the weekend pick.
By early next week, high pressure will build into New England, and that should help produce a pair of at least partly sunny days with highs in the mid 50s to low 60s with clouds building Tuesday, and a chance for showers developing by Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Have a great day and check your Nutshell and Celestials below!
