HUMIDITY, WARMTH AND BREEZINESS TODAY & TOMORROW… ISOLATED SHOWERS OR A STORM TODAY… ISOLATED AREAS OF STREET FLOODING FRIDAY WITH DOWNPOURS AND A THUNDERSTORM. GORGEOUS WEEKEND

Good morning folks, after our substantial Tuesday rainfall, and our big heat wave that ended with big severe weather south of the Pike and west of I-91 on the 4th of July, we’ve entered the summer doldrums weather-wise. Yes, it will become very warm to briefly hot and humid late this week (starting today), and again by the middle of next week. However, no heat waves are expected as of now, nor big severe weather hits, nor stratiform soakers like we had on Tuesday.

For today, humidity will definitely be coming UP with dewpoints expected to rise well into the 60s and low 70s, so it’s gonna get muggy, peeps. Highs will climb well into the 80s and some folks may hit 90º under partly to mostly sunny skies (after any fog or super low clouds burn off).

We’ll also see some southerly gusts pick up and gust 15-25mph at times, with some isolated to widely scattered showers or a thunderstorm passing west to east this later afternoon. Lows will dip into the low to mid 60s with patchy fog expected once again.

For Friday, our humidity and warmth will be present prior to a cold front dropping north to south through the region by Friday afternoon.

Highs will rise well into the 80s with clouds developing and scattered showers, downpours or a thunderstorm or two dropping through our region. The main potential impact is for street flooding in any slow-moving cells, given the weak steering flow expected tomorrow.

Lows will drop into the upper 50s to mid 60s and we will then be delivered until a lovely weekend supportive of any and all activities will be supported (except rain/mud angel making, which this writer got VERY good at this past Tuesday, just sayin’).

Highs will reach the mid 70s to low/mid 80s each day under sunny skies with lower humidity, and lows landing in the mid to upper 50s each night.

By the first half of next week, we’ll start to warm back up as high pressure scoots to our south. More sunshine is expected with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s Monday, the 85-90 range on Tuesday, and then the mid 80s to low 90s (and possibly mid 90s) by Wednesday, with lows in the 60s.

Humidity is likely to increase as well, but we may hold off on any shower potential until Wednesday night or later week.

Have a great a day!

YOUR NUTSHELL:
–High pressure positioned to our south opens the door to warmth and increased humidity
–Dewpoints temps will soar into the 60s to low 70s, with highs well into the 80s today, so a very warm and humid afternoon awaits
–Southerly breezes will kick up and gust 15-25mph at times
–A few isolated to widely scattered showers or a thunderstorm develops later afternoon
–Lows drop into the low to mid 60s with patchy fog late
–Friday is the peak of warmth and humidity as a cold front is set to drop north to south through the region during the afternoon into very early evening
–Highs will reach the 80s to near 90º once again with high humidity, followed by areas of showers, downpours and thunderstorms
–Steering flow is fairly weak, so cells may move slowly, and cause street flooding in spots
–Activity will die out at night as clear and dry out, with lows in the mid 50s to low 60s
–The weekend is killer with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s under sunny skies, with lows in the 50s and lower humidity
–Monday through Wednesday also also looks rain-free with abundant sunshine as high pressure builds into the south
–This will push temps into the 80s Monday, and mid 80s to low 90s by Tuesday into Wednesday, with lows in the 60s
–A cold front potentially works through the region by late week, reducing humidity and temps behind it
